Re:Ask HN: Google Ads Rejected My SaaS as Compromised Site on Monday August 19, 2024 @04:37PM (#41294378)
Do you get flagged in any databases here : https://www.ssltrust.com.au/ssl-tools/website-security-check

As I know google is partnered with a lot of them and if your flagged in one you’ll need to contact them to get removed.

Looks to be just a basic UI to your data provider. What makes you better than all the others doing the same and selling it or open sourcing theirs?
I am really not liking this Sam guy and how he does things. He has an attitude of “my way and only my way, and I don’t care what you think or do”
Re:May 2022 core update releasing for Google Search on Wednesday May 25, 2022 @06:31PM (#31511580)
Sales for my business has been great for about a year now. I was just about to hire my first person. The last few weeks sales from google clicks have dropped a LOT and I think this is why. Now I am not so sure about hiring someone. Thanks google.

What the best free place to subscribe to, to get notified of hacks like this? Some place that is quick at getting them added/listed and notifying people. As I often hear about it in the news first which is day+ after it’s released and not soon enough
They just offered me 50% of for 3 years if I upgrade to membership. I don’t want to use their cloud password storage tho. I prefer to sync it all via iCloud.

And one that is good at detecting any malware on a website. Does anyone have any experience with VirusDie? They look to be good, my only concern is that they not be good at detecting all the different kinds of malware, and i was a little concerned that...

There is no country field and no mention of country limitations. Can I signup from Australian?
Re:CA Root expired on 30 May 2020 on Saturday May 30, 2020 @06:34PM (#23365417)
The amount of times I told the CA that this will be an issue is a lot. And the amount of time they replied saying there will be no issue is every single time. Dam I hate CAs like Comodo

Re:Ask HN: Looking for someone to help create a trusted CA on Saturday April 18, 2020 @07:26PM (#22912000)
Thanks for the DigiCert link. Are there other CAs that offer the same service that you know of? As DigiCert is very very very expensive as they target the top end enterprise.

Re:Stripe raises $600M at nearly $36B valuation on Thursday April 16, 2020 @08:25PM (#22895025)
i dont want to open a US business just to process US payments. the cost and time would be to high. and taxes. did you open a australian stripe account without an australian business?
Re:Stripe raises $600M at nearly $36B valuation on Thursday April 16, 2020 @05:32PM (#22893794)
I agree with all this and it may be the reason I leave stripe soon.

I deal a lot in USD as an Australian company but stripe won’t allow us to charge in USD and settle into our USD bank accounts. But others will.

Also the refund issue is crazy, no other provider we use does it.

Ask HN: Good tech sites with user submitted articles

Hello, I am constantly on hackernoon.com reading user submitted content. And i have also submitted some which have been published. Re:Ask HN: Who has been laid off? on Sunday April 05, 2020 @04:19AM (#22784455)
I am still employed luckily. But I am keen to try help out any developers. I was going to start a new project in nodejs Adonisjs and Vuejs but I might see about hiring someone to do it for me instead. Only problem is I won’t be able to afford a full time developer at normal rates. Maybe $5,000 AUD and I think it will take about 3 - 4 months works. Would anyone be interested? I understand if not as it’s not a great deal of money for the time.
Doesn’t Mozilla already have an open source JavaScript app that does this?
As a business owner that relies on organic traffic, this is a huge hit
Re:Ask HN: What's your best startup idea? on Thursday October 31, 2019 @07:59PM (#21415047)
Why is there a need to post this same question every other day. Maybe to get other people’s ideas instead of generating your own to build?
yeah i would like to stay away from doing it myself for a while, as i dont want to SSLs to lapse. And i dont want to build it up. Would prefer a service provider at first.

But if i did build it myself. Can you recommend a built for the reverse proxy? with an API, config in database maybe?
