Ask HN: Automated WebRTC Livestream Recording

Hey guys, I'm trying to build an automated system to record livestreams, but I'm not sure if I am doing something completely wrong or if there's a better way of doing thisRequirements- Hands free, runs 24/7- Incoming stream on webpage is only in WebRTC (No m3u8, etc)- Needs to be able to record multiple (up to 4 and hopefully more) streams at onceNotes - It doesn't have to be a chrome...

Finally just what i needed

On another note, I once had to fetch data in powerbi, but there were some sandbox limitations on fetch requests or something

I ended up fetching images instead and encoding/decoding the image bits being sent to make an arbitary fetch request

Hey everyone, previously my friend and I made a Figma plugin for converting from Figma to Tailwind and we have been iterating on it for the past 7 months from the feedback we’ve gain from all the people we’ve met on reddit / telegram / hackernews.

The most common feedback that we got from our FireJet plugin revolved around the friction between design and code. We thought hard about how we could work around these issues and here is what we’ve come up with.

Any and all feedback on whether this solves your pain points is really appreciated! Thank you!

Hi HN! Philip and Stephen here, we are the co-founders of FireJet (https://www.firejet.io), which allows you to export from Figma to Tailwind CSS.

We first met at university, where we did several projects together, often first designing in Figma and then developing the frontend manually. It’s not that it was extremely hard to code out our app frontends - however, it felt like redundant work to design the frontend once in figma then again in code.

We tried several other tools which were similar to FireJet, but the main problem we always ran into was that the other tools had alot of features like automatic semantic tagging, implementing Material UI components, and so on, but none of them got the one fundamental thing we needed it to do - which was convert it to code. Some competitors were even converting certain figma frames into images, which as you can imagine is about as useful as replacing your website with an <img> tag

We made a quick prototype in a week, and people who needed the specific tailwind functionality loved it. Fast forward about 3 months, we have more than 800 downloads and a small (but growing!) group of dedicated users who keep coming back to us and helping us improve the product.

Even now, our landing page and our plugin UI are themselves developed using FireJet itself.

So we are launching FireJet here in the spirit of building in public, and we hope that FireJet reduce your time to market for your startup / agency / company!

Re:Ask HN: How have you used GitHub Copilot so far? on Thursday June 09, 2022 @10:42PM (#31689378)
To add on most of the time I dont use copilot because it takes time for me to read and understand what copilot is doing, and sometimes it gets stuff like typescript types wrong/inaccurate and the code style is slightly different too
Re:Ask HN: How have you used GitHub Copilot so far? on Thursday June 09, 2022 @10:41PM (#31689372)
Whenever I need a function that i know has been done a million times before but for some reason isnt on stack overflow ill use copilot

E.g. converting default EM value and REM value to pixels

Like i couldnt seem to google what the default EM and REM values were but copilot knows better than me
