If AI business is greatest business ever, why are they doing IPO?

I understand need for more money and more compute. But if they are so advance and great. Why are their own private investors and private share holders letting this multiple trillion $ opportunity go away? Private markets and family offices are big at $trillion level. Sure they could raise until Z letter in private rounds, stay private like some companies be able to for for their entire time?...

I think you very much ignore or don't know how much "entertainment media" plays a role of shaping our society today. We ended up amusing ourselves to death and Apple does his part with it, IMO. Streaming media or creating them is not a great way to profit or anything. So it's not solely money driven. They're shaping your reality with media and distracting you. We're in post-truth era. No need to go so much deep into this, just call it conspiracy, etc.
Great details but that only makes it true for Steve Jobs and not Apple at all? Steve Jobs were even out of Apple when he owned Pixar https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pixar
It always starts like that, but once it scales to 1000 or more producers and directors, we get Netflix type quality content in 2023. Great movies and tv-series are really rare.
Yeah for that subscription service for tv-series and movies seems really great way to increase value. As we see with Disney+ etc how profitable it really is.
Yes but at core it's tech company? Disney and a lot of other streaming services created by Hollywood make sense, even thou business models are not profitable recently. Without good 3rd party content, it can take a decade or more to create a good library and still that's not enough IMO.

Does anyone ever think about why Apple is involved in creating TV Series?

I know Apple has been part of entertainment media in last decades with ipod and such. But the "why" part of how a great hardware company like Apple, produces Tv Shows so we get distracted enough is like a lot more dystopian if anyone thinks about it.Following this, in this decade Nvidia will produce or acquire a company that creates in house AI movies, I mean why not?

Also majority can't handle truth, even it's about their body. Humans dont follow logic, they're emotional.

+ I'm sure human brain doesn't use all hours in a year at max capacity. so in reality it's like few thousand? hours a year to learn complicated tasks and advance. After it's advance enough, It's the by far most energy efficient in the world.

Does anyone remember Blue Origin?

What happened to this company and how are they so behind SpaceX ?They didn't have any launches in 2023 so far. wiki as a source, sorry. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Origin

U don't and masses are stupid. They elect thiefs, all over the world.

Ask HN: How does feel to use high IQ just to make billions addic. to apps?

Seriously? Just to make that product or game or app so addictive by design for ad revenue? Spending all intelligence for making people addicted. Does anyone want to share how it feels as a person or team/company?Do you ever see how much value you add to world by making that useless game or software so addictive.

Re:The real reasons why sharks attack humans on Sunday July 09, 2023 @12:59PM (#36656204)
Only few people a year die from shark attacks, imagine writing about that type of low stats. ? Ridiculous.

On the other hand dozens die everyday from car crashes in USA alone. Nobody even mentions that much to relative to that.

how about now?
"they aren’t taking a directional position yet"

Fixed it for you.

What exactly making it accesible to trillion $ capital is going to lead? lower price for decades? stable price for fixed supply asset? Just think :)

Sorry to say it but majority of book reviews are just stupid and not informative in anyway. The idea that a book can be reviewed in less than 1-2 page + not knowing and checking background of reviewer is just creates garbage. Similar to Amazon reviews etc.
You mean like Paypal etc and how they can just ban you and take your money? + Many countries can't access to "centralised version" by default. Imagine internet being country restricted and centralized so they can just choose which country/people can access it. That would be horrible
Re:Lenovo profits are down a staggering 75% on Sunday May 28, 2023 @03:26PM (#36106934)
How much of that lost is directly related to Intel and how they're soo behind in tech with thinkpads?
Yes but I'm more curious about how they archive the content at the first place. It's not tamper-proof so it gives them a power.
Facebook acquired Oculus 9 years ago, spent billions yet active users are similiar to crypto probably. So another tech like you said exist and Crytpo is being used for meaningful things too. But you are just too ignorant to even learn about it, sadly. There many like you here.
It helps libgen, sci-hub stay funded and makes Argentines, many other nations hold USD equivalent. It makes remittance much more cheaper and easier too
Not to forget, their token drop to actual users and after that it went publicly up in real value and still holds similar to first price, unlike scammy financially enginered Tech IPOs. Really easy to compare and see the diffence.

I mean bad deal doesn't %100 mean it can't be huge in future? Bill gates had almost half of Microsoft stock at IPO, every investing decision he had did'nt replace that lost but Microsoft is still huge. There aree similiar examples in history.
