Re:SlugOS has a working PMM, VMM, and Heap allocator on Sunday June 29, 2025 @03:58PM (#44415886)
The title explains most of it, I also have an ATA PIO (Polling Input Output is what it means at least I think) driver, I plan to get an initramfs next, any advice on what I should do?

Sidenote: Yes I know about the graphical glitch, not sure whats wrong, but the serial output is fine, so I just read from that for now, but I will fix it later (going to add it to the todo list)

Re:C is not a low-level language (2018) on Tuesday May 13, 2025 @02:53PM (#43976333)
I would say it is only a low level language if it's a form of assembly or used in systems programming like Linux or OpenBSD or whatever else in the kernel land
Re:My from-scratch OS kernel that runs DOOM on Thursday April 24, 2025 @02:47PM (#43786086)
Hey unmapped (I am ThatOSDeveloper on GitHub and discord it's my display name) I never knew you got doom running on it, pretty cool, but I have a few questions, is it the original doom, is it on disk or an initramfs and do you use freedom or the shareware doom wad with the engine you use?
SaaS is what you want, turn your API scraper into a tool let someone scrape another API 29 times before they have to pay, sell some of your libraries the old unix way, you sell it, and they get the source for however many dollars you choose, use stripe for all your payment stuff and you should be good.
Sorry you need to upgrade your plan for that.
I think that projects like this are pretty smart, and I like little simple hacked-together things like this, most likely made in a weekend.
I suppose, but firebase is used in some applications, though of course a lot of them are just during testing, so assuming everyone was not like you they would make profit, but assuming a mix, they would make only a bit of profit, so it would be more like a small side project/nice feature that google provides that makes them a little bit of money.
Re:Peering into the Linux Kernel with Trace on Sunday April 13, 2025 @05:07PM (#43675867)
This is a pretty interesting method to prove/debug the kernel on the fly
It is still used a lot by many hundreds of corporations and likely makes them profit, so I would assume yes.
Re:AmigaOS Updated in 2025 on Thursday April 10, 2025 @02:57PM (#43647034)
This is pretty cool that they still update such an old OS
Re:SDL2 for macOS 9 "rough draft" on Thursday April 10, 2025 @02:47PM (#43646947)
I think it's amazing that we would have a new way to make apps running on macOS 9 systems since with a well known standard such as SDL2 we could make far more apps.
