Re:German state planning to switch 25,000 PCs to LibreOffice on Thursday November 18, 2021 @01:34PM (#29268794)
I hope other countries will do it. I have some doubts about Belgium which is not really great to do right choices. Also I feel like Germany is often ahead its neighbors. Anyway, that's good to read !

Edit : LibrOffice is not really complicated but Linux requires some knowledge to be well used. Will people have a training course to survive on Linux ?

"I am definitely not believing that is has to do something with Biology. People telling “female are just less smart” or some bullshit like that are living under a rock and not in the 21st century."

I'm happy to read that. So many guys have hard thoughts about women on this topic. I'm nevertheless sad that women are not more present in "guy's stuff". They might reverse this way of thinking and put themselves forward. But the education even in developed countries is still deepening a gap gender. E.g. dollies/ make up/dance for girls, cars/ shirt/football for boys. We don't mix enough "gender interests" and we inculcate this difference in kids even not on purpose. I hope it's changing

Re:Scenarios in which Tesla FSD Beta 9.0 fails on Tuesday July 13, 2021 @02:45PM (#27824589)
Horses' behavior strongly depends on their education, training and the driver. A good one with a good driver doesn't give in to fear. You even can make a helicopter fly next to it if it is well trained. If FSD gets the perfection and you don't need to enjoy your driving it would be dull. It's like having a personal driver. What makes driving a car or a good horse (or whatever) fun is the interaction with them, the handling of your own decisions and your accuracy to carry out a manoeuvre

The problem is that they are self-fueling all the time where grass is if you are not aware or if you didn't teach well your horse to avoid eating each blade of grass on the way. The journey might be very long haha

No but they can run over other living beings or even cars : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nYiV2YVLHg (In this one, I blame the driver)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ft9OXQ03qE (you can stop after the first hit because it repeats in loop) (I chose the less shocked one, some of them are terrible).

I should ! The time when I listened to Pink Floyd I didn't know English yet. I will try again now I'm more or less okay with this language
I don't get this comment. Not everyone can be a musician and if you want to go further in music like theory of the music it requires a good part of intellectualism
a decade ago, I loved Roger Waters as a singer and musician, I don't know what he did else (I've read some comments that point out things he "wrongly" did) but I can feel something by seeing this video. I agree with his decision but I'm a bit shocked by him being so scathing. I feel like something's wrong with his virulent behavior. Is it really necessary, constructive and efficient to be so scathing ?

I was thinking of something like that : https://donpedrobrooklyn.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/oute...

But in a right scale. If the earth has a scale of 1/10th of a dot, that would be a bad decoration

Re:If the Moon Were Only 1 Pixel (2014) on Tuesday June 22, 2021 @05:05AM (#27589489)
I wanted to respect the current distances, the sizes and the places of each planet to make it really real. Maybe like here https://theskylive.com/3dsolarsystem I was thinking of painting the planets myself
Re:If the Moon Were Only 1 Pixel (2014) on Tuesday June 22, 2021 @04:55AM (#27589430)
I walked through the "Planetenweg" in Switzerland. It was so cool ! https://www.utokulm.ch/en/uetliberg/planet_trail

But I can't have that in my bedroom

It is far where we had to turn the propeller ourselves! Nice and interesting visit.
Re:If the Moon Were Only 1 Pixel (2014) on Sunday June 20, 2021 @05:23PM (#27574041)
I'd like to knock up a solar system in a right scale and I wondered how can I do that. Now that I see this article I think I just can't, not in a regular room at least. I guess I will not have my solar system in an accurate scale hung on my ceiling. Too bad
Re:Biochemical Pathway Maps on Friday June 18, 2021 @02:35AM (#27547914)
Thank you ! I've just ordered it. I hope I'll receive it :)
Re:Biochemical Pathway Maps on Friday June 18, 2021 @02:29AM (#27547883)
Pretty cool !! I just ordered mine on their website. They provide it in two parts : 1. Metabolic Pathways (139cm x 98cm / 4.5feet x 3 feet) 2. Cellular and molecular processes (115cm x 98cm / 4feet x 3feet)
Re:Biochemical Pathway Maps on Thursday June 17, 2021 @07:08PM (#27545482)
I didn't know such map exists. I wonder if I can get one as a poster !
