I think if this is only what they allowed it would be a useful since it would measure real world exposure.

If anyone want to fund a homeless guy buying one of these devices to use while he drive around the United States I could sure add a lot of contribution to the science. Let me know. I would love to help with this and be somehow useful in a society that finds me useless.
I have been disabled on medicare for 23 years. I have often told my doctors that if they spent the time and money to look at my biology more closely it would have saved the tax payers so much money from medicare and likability payments.

Health care is actually sick care.

I obviously have a genetic condition because it runs through my mothers side of my family, but they refuse to look at my genetics. So, did. I found things. I begged a researcher to test me for a special sort of immune deficiency (ADA Deficiency) . The tests shows I have a partial immune deficiency. I showed it to my doctor and nothing.

When my condition flares up (Too mush ATP and GTP) it effects my brain and nervous sytem and I have to be institutionalized. Five times now. I keep telling them my mood problem is caused by an immune deficiency but now one cares.

Sorry, end of rant.

It means that $72 billion will further dilute the stock price when the debt turns into stock.

It is pump and dump in action.

They are getting high off their own supply.

They literally said revenue growth rate "may not be sustainable" and "may decrease".

So get ready for the hurt.

Not so wild when you add two zeros to hardware-related liabilities...
Re:Anthropic S-1 on Monday October 26, 2026 @09:23AM (#50243221)
Why are you ignoring the $80.7 Billion loss?

$72 billion of this $80.7 billion loss consists of non-cash accounting charges— related to convertible debt—triggered by a surge in the company’s valuation.

The hardware related liabilities are staggering.

AI psychosis is real.

The original fine was much higher. This is closer to Meta’s hopes than the peoples.
If anyone cares to comment why I am wrong here I would appreciate it.
I am sorry, but if you still have stupid humans these leads will end up going the same place all the leads go. Nowhere.

So what if DCTN1 is linked to Alzheimer's? All they will do is invent a drug to mess with the enzyme and it might only still help a small percentage of people and no one will be able to afford it.

It is well know that diet plays a large role in Alzheimer's[1] and is largely an issue of personal genetics and environment.

Here is an old Daoist story to ponder:

In taking precautions against thieves who cut open satchels, search bags, and break open boxes, people are sure to cord and fasten them well, and to employ strong bonds and clasps; and in this they are ordinarily said to show their wisdom. When a great thief comes, however, he shoulders the box, lifts up the satchel, carries off the bag, and runs away with them, afraid only that the cords, bonds, and clasps may not be secure; and in this case what was called the wisdom (of the owners) proves to be nothing but a collecting of the things for the great thief.

The AI economy profits solely off of the broken window fallacy.
The disease is unleashing these powerful AI tools to the public before even thinking about the risks.
If they can find the vulnerability anyone can. This whole "patch the planet" is marketing trying to cover up for the danger AI is unleashing on internet infrastructure.
MapQuest is acting like Democrats should be acting.

Are there no negative aspects of capitalism (libertarianism) in your mind?

Far left, far right. You say potato...

Maybe invent an AI that destroys other AI's?

Re:Do dentists know what they're doing? on Thursday October 15, 2026 @11:37AM (#50105233)
"Drill 'em, fill 'em, and bill 'em"

This scam is as old as the hills. In the 70's my family's dentist gave us root canals all the time. He was later arrested for a bunch of fraud and drugs. Old co-workers later testified against him saying he made up cavities and root canals.

I had three root canals by him I probably did not need.

Not been to a dentist in 20 years (I am late 50's), no issues.

Re:CPI-U rises 7.2% annualized in September (3.7% YoY) on Wednesday October 14, 2026 @04:37PM (#50094821)
I never claimed higher fertilizer prices alone would result in starvation. I’m claiming higher diesel prices higher fertilizer. Prices in combination will probably cause starvation. It might not be in the US, but it will be in other places. You don’t seem to care about.
Re:CPI-U rises 7.2% annualized in September (3.7% YoY) on Wednesday October 14, 2026 @11:38AM (#50089374)
That will make oil and fertilizer more expensive, but does not increase the amount of oil and fertilizer. And you will also starve people and crash the economy.
Re:CPI-U rises 7.2% annualized in September (3.7% YoY) on Wednesday October 14, 2026 @11:36AM (#50089336)
> Reducing money supply will reduce the amount of money available to spend on oil, gas, and fertilizer, thus reducing the demand of those things to match the lowered supply.

People and businesses need to buy gas and oil. It is not discretionary spending. They also need to buy food, and food prices are not higher because of the money supply, nor because people are buying more food, they are higher because oil prices are higher.

Also, all that lowered spending you cited will mean closed businesses and economic collapse. Say goodbye to AI as well.

You cannot control inflation caused by a supply shock by rising interest rates.

Re:CPI-U rises 7.2% annualized in September (3.7% YoY) on Wednesday October 14, 2026 @11:29AM (#50089167)
Lowering interest rates does not create more oil. This inflation is caused by an oil supply problem, not a money supply problem. Lowering the money supply will make things worse since industry will already be facing head winds from higher oil prices and making money more expensive to borrow will slow production and investment even further.
Re:CPI-U rises 7.2% annualized in September (3.7% YoY) on Wednesday October 14, 2026 @11:20AM (#50089006)
> Inflation comes from the monetary supply

Not al all in this case. This is all caused by lower physical supply of oil, gas, diesel and fertilizer from the Iran War. Tightening the money supply will not fix this.

Re:CPI-U rises 7.2% annualized in September (3.7% YoY) on Wednesday October 14, 2026 @11:17AM (#50088965)
The worst part of all this is that they are now going to raise rates when this is not money supply driven inflation. You cannot lower inflation by interest rates when it is caused by rising oil and ferilizer prices.

But I am afraid this is what they will do to screw the democrats after they take the house and the senate and then blame the market crash all on them.

Thanks. Peace, yes, that is the key. A very radical acceptance that everything is impermanent.

It works, for sure, and I need to be more vocal about my survival and how I did, and still do it. Thank you again, and I am glad you came out of all of that with such great insight. _/\_
