Tricky Bpfilter, very tricky.
Super sad, and I'm assuming that moving from SF to Miami was in part due to crime issue.
Hate to see this – wish the SF politicians AND voter-base took crime more seriously.
Quick Question: why do the layoffs take so long?
Like why is he saying for some groups it may take till the end of the year?
Internally, doesn't that mean nobody has any morale or gets any work done for a proper year, since everyone remains jaded and on edge?

Honestly, just off the vibes. Which one felt hard, which one felt easy, we can adjust!

I just launched a new free SQL practice platform today called DataLemur! I'm the author of Ace the Data Science Interview, and a lot of our readers wanted to practice the SQL questions from the book, so we decided to make DataLemur free and open!Even if you aren't job hunting, these tricky SQL questions are pretty fun to practice on.
College towns I found have been great for this - things to do, access to airports and good schools, top-notch hospitals usually in the middle of "nowhere". Look into Charlottesville, Virginia - went to UVA and loved the town. Have also heard good things about Ithaca NY, Champaign IL, and Ann Arbor MI.
Holy shit this game is hard. First few levels, maybe a bit of extra health?
I ran that same logic for Ace the Data Science Interview, and I'm facing the exact counterfeit issues as the OP!
I'm a best-selling author. Every few days a 3rd party sells my book as 'New' or 'Like New' for below the sales price. Only issue is, I'm a self-published author, so there is no way they can be getting the book and selling it for less than what I sell it. I've bought the products multiple times, and each time it's a fake copy of my book (different paper quality, typos, missing pages, weirdness in cover design). This isn't happening just to me — across the board, some of the top coding + ML books are counterfeit.

I'm a Software Engineer turned Marketer, and the gap between the two worlds is pretty big. I recently wrote about the #1 Marketing Mistake I made (which I think many other devs might fall into when thinking about marketing), which I think HN might like:

Great tips! Resonates with a lot of what I wrote about!
If you're curious on how to ~actually~ win hackathons, I wrote up my experience winning 1st place at HackUVA (University of Virginia's 24-hour hackathon) and then coming to judge the hackathon the next year on behalf of Facebook (and seeing the competition from the other side of the proverbial table)
