Hah, I've told someone it has the everyone-can-edit style of Wikipedia and from then on they assumed it was for research only and were confused as to why we'd need "another one".

Sigh.

"Why would I need more storage? Oh, and Hotmail is fast enough for me and I know how to use it."

People are resistant to change...

Ask people what they want from current services (email is the one 99% will understand) and work out how Wave could be used to meet that need. i.e. Instead of emailing a new attachment everytime a document is changed, tell them to put the text in the email and how they can continue to edit it.

Does anybody know how Wave is going to deal with Spam? I assume you are not limited to sending waves to people who have added you as a friend or contact.

http://ramamia.com/ Was very good when I tried it, and I think it may provide most of what you are looking for.

Twitter's approach to account deletion. Does this have any purpose?

This is the only example I have encountered; when you close your account on Twitter it prevents you from creating a new account with the same username or email. This is neither practical or useful security, it does however put barriers in the way of return customers.Does anyone know of websites that also use this approach? What is their justification for it?

I had a look at the "See what you can do" video, it looks like a faster, simpler alternative to using social-networking sites and family newsletters etc.

@Jason Really like the look of this! I just hope releasing so late in the holidays (pre-thanksgiving I could see this service really taking off) won't affect it's adoption too greatly. Anyway, Thank you and Merry Xmas!

If you're using a helmet, might as well use a camera instead...

Would be far cheaper, and could always use eye-tracking to move the camera (or even just zoom and pan to give the effect of looking)

The way I read it she had to use the command line when she was in college, and thinks the GUI is "stolen" from Windows. (Hence the concern about legality)
