Haha, I'm also building a code forge (at eol.sh, just a placeholder is there now). I like that you don't look like yet another Github clone, which is my primary frustration with the alternatives.

Ah, a fellow Titty Tuesday enjoyer.

Oh, I was gonna do a "Show HN" post but someone beat me to it by a few hours!

When the Deno/Cloudflare announcement happened, I was dissatisfied[1] with the reasons given for the core team giving up on it so I forked it, ripped a bunch of stuff out, and gave it a new name.

Releases have been working since last week and the docs have been updated. The official website was on the backburner but now it's out.

I forgot to create a FAQ section/page but I think the site is self-explanatory.

Re:Ask HN: Is anyone else struggling with AI wealth FOMO? on Saturday October 31, 2026 @03:21AM (#50313950)
This kind of thinking led to me believing in Gary Vaynerchuck in my early 20s, that I had to work myself ragged to get ahead in life. I've worked in startups for most of my career and the only one that was successful was the one I worked on as temp help for a few months; no pay-out for me.

The success stories you see are of people who had the perfect combination of place, time, and access. Best you can do is log off and focus on how to add value to the world, not to shareholders.

Damn, now I wanna sit on that sofa.
Re:Pico CSS is no longer maintained on Friday October 30, 2026 @12:28AM (#50299865)

   Do people actually use this?
Yes. I made https://uchu.style after I read this blog post: https://evilmartians.com/chronicles/oklch-in-css-why-quit-rg...

I love OKLCH. Awkward to say, beautiful to look at.

+1 to the outright hostility.

Good riddance.

Re:A Health Update on Thursday October 29, 2026 @03:45AM (#50285656)
My condolences to you.

I just celebrated my 9th wedding anniversary but my wife and I have been together for 15 years. She lost her mom to cancer a couple years ago so that’s been in the back of my mind, randomly freaking me out.

Just focusing on enjoying a day at a time.

Re:Behind the scenes at the NeXT Computer office on Monday October 26, 2026 @06:35PM (#50252086)
He made his money in the dotcom boom so he's not totally without smarts. Haven't heard from him since though.
Re:Behind the scenes at the NeXT Computer office on Monday October 26, 2026 @04:27AM (#50240771)
I’m 38 and I worked for an IoT startup a decade ago until the CEO couldn’t pay us anymore (unbeknownst to us, he was emptying his bank account for it salaries instead of telling us months prior to start looking elsewhere).

I’ve mentioned in comments here and elsewhere that I wish I could’ve worked at Bell Labs or Xerox PARC…what a time that must’ve been. Alas. At least my side projects keep me busy; they don’t pay the bills yet but they’re the best chance I got to work on something meaningful and (eventually) get paid to do so.

this got downvoted, ofc because i know nothing.
It’s the StackOverflow effect. If you aren’t an expert you’re punished for having the audacity to ask questions.
Same thought I had (right after “no slashed zero? Meh”)
People hate generalizations

Even when starting Claude in dangerous mode, you still need to babysit it! Annoying.

Re:Thank You, Deno on Friday October 16, 2026 @11:58AM (#50120034)
Haha! Happy to spread awareness! I saw it being used somewhere several years ago and loved it.

There's a fork-in-progress called "Dodo," the Discord server is quickly filling up. https://github.com/denoland/deno/issues/37030#issuecomment-6...

Dodo aims to be a drop-in replacement.

Then there's Ende, my fork, and I ripped out Node compatibility, Deploy, KV, Jupyter, &c. https://ende.sh

Huge, if true.

Update, I'm doing a fork: https://ende.sh

LMAO, I'm sold.

Watch Dogs was ahead of its time. How long before one of these hacker groups claim the DedSec name as their own?
Re:Incident with Actions, Pull Requests and Issues on Monday October 12, 2026 @01:39PM (#50059915)
I'm literally building my own Github right now

https://social.coop/@netopwibby/117418961623523555

At my job, it was encouraged to to enroll your personal phone with the company's configs to make it easier to do work things. After a few months I took it off, it creeped me out and wasn't necessary to do my job.
Seems cool. I feel like it'd gain critical mass in the double digits.
Re:IRCv3 on Sunday October 11, 2026 @06:11PM (#50048418)
Amen.

I long to bring this back in a Miranda-IM way (super customizable), but other projects get in the way.

I don't care if only a handful of us (few milly) find it useful.

Re:How big is a Git commit? on Sunday October 11, 2026 @04:05AM (#50040685)
I always use long options when possible. I don’t need terseness, computers do. I wanna help future me figure out how to run something.
Re:The Lightbulb Computer on Saturday October 10, 2026 @05:44PM (#50037493)
This is an awesome concept. How do you see this working across several rooms (if you've thought this far)? This would be great for when I have ideas in the shower.
Re:Deno Is Joining Cloudflare on Saturday October 10, 2026 @12:05PM (#50034246)
...well, who decided to embrace Node compatibility?!

The DX of Deno far surpasses Node (or at least it did, idk if Node has caught up in that regard).

What are the big problems you see that still need solving that a future Deno (fork) could handle?

EDIT: Talking to people in the Discord and was reminded that the community may have been the inspiration. Adoption was low so boom, add Node compatibility and now adoption grows. MEH.

If I'm doing a fork, I'm removing Node.

Agreed. I've long wished for a second renaissance and while I didn't wish for waves hand all this, truly creative works and arts and discoveries are on the horizon. The human spirit perseveres.
We’ve tricked sand into thinking, eradicated most diseases, and you’ll still see people claim with every fiber in their being, that something is impossible and someone on the other side of the world will instantaneously respond from their toilet.

If you’re tired of thinking, just say that. Don’t project your middling imagination onto others.
