Am I mistaken or is the term just not in trend any more?
Bummer. I was about to give it a try
Do you know what you are talking about. Can't decide whether you are joking or whether you really think people should charge via DC in their homes
Agreed. The page could already benefit from one catchy subtitle sentence with a description
Equally happy! Would recommend!
Mailcow is the solution we use. Reliable since years and feature rich. A ticket to add a dmarc parser exists but no one ever contributed the plug and play solution discussed in the ticket. Works pretty straight forward.
Mailcow, can recommend
You are missing one crucial element here:
`setSpeed(meterPerSecond: float)`
Type annotations are great in python 3.9 and beyond. Used them heavily in one of our bigger projects and that added a lot of quality to the code.
Sadly this is also why I dropped Pint quickly. It does not integrate with annotations nicely.
Good video structure and nice explanation. Liked the justification piece at the end. It's a reminder that most everyday solutions in our life are not the best version of what they could be.
Another thought: Remember that this is just one of many standards. People on the internet often forget that the US is not the only nation on here ;) https://www.worldstandards.eu/electricity/plugs-and-sockets/
that's not a valid argument. How do you identify "the lot"?
I'm still using BeyondPod. Development is stale and problems start appearing. It has one-two features really unique that I miss with other apps. First and foremost "Smart Playlists"
Documentation is also clearly expecting the user to read the page on a desktop device. If you are part of the project, please check it out.
Interesting concept!
Their slogan is catchy but breaks bad in (my) mobile view
I'm using this feature mostly to stay informed about new releases. I even convinced repo maintainers to actually create releases for that usecase
Definitely a nice hint to make people aware. Thanks

Hey all,
I'm looking for career advice and think you are the right group to consult.I worked at a German university as a full time member in research and teaching for the last couple of years and finished my PhD (Dr.-Ing.) in complex systems and software engineering two years ago. Since 1.5 years I work with a fast-growing startup in a role that is best summarized by data scientist. My direct...
I understand that you don't want to release prematurely but what I don't understand:
Why don't you release your code from the first line written? I start committing to Github right from the start. Others might already want to follow your project or even contribute PRs. I'd definitely be interested. Maybe at least create the repo so we can subscribe to activities ;) Best!
openHAB home automation.
The Raspberry Pi is a recommended base for openHAB and a prepared image is provided for easy use.
I use more for other purposes but openHAB is the important one. The Rpi is also nice for it as many hardware receivers/transmitters are compatible

Wow that's much to process. I'll think about my next steps.
Many thanks man!
The idea was indeed to relocate to the US.
Thanks for the additional hints!
Thanks, that was quite helpful, especially the "oversubscribed" detail. I do not hold a patent or greencard.
I should add however, that I am enrolled as a student and am currently in the final phase of my PhD. I should be eligible for the J-1 Visa, correct?
An internship would be at least something and who knows what develops out of it. Wdyt?

Hey guys!
Short: How can I increase my chances in applying for a position in CA from Europe/Germany?Long: I'm currently living in Germany and am looking for some abroad experience in the US (while I'm young and free).
I'm a software and embedded systems engineer with a few years of work experience. Today I received a refusal for a position I felt perfectly matched my profile. I did not expect...
Proprietary systems will never fully cover the scope of a smart home. openHAB as an open source software doesn't stop at the limits of one technology but combines over 200 competing technologies to build the true "smart home".
openHAB 2.2 brings VSCode and LSP support, offers dozens new add-ons and includes many UI/UX improvements.

Had a quick look at the article and this immediately caught my eye.
Leave the PR open! The maintainer might need a few more days to respond or might eventually reconsider. Also do not forget about other developers interested in the project. I've more than once merged PRs locally to profit from them before they were merged. Last but not least, open PRs are a good health indicator, I have to agree there.
I had my fair share of endeavors with closed and open home automation solutions and this one really hit it off. openHAB is an amazingly flexible center for your smart home, regardless if you are playing around with ESP8266's or driving a whole KNX installation.
It's open source and the ~200 add-ons can talk to nearly everything out there, from Z-Wave over Alexa and IFTTT, your Tesla car and up to whatever you get onto MQTT.
One warning though: "With great power comes great responsibility" ;) openHAB is not a point and shoot adventure. Setting up the SmartHome takes a few minutes. But it's totally worth it! Happy Hacking!

Yeah sure but Atom is one of the most intriguing parts of PlatformIO, especially if you want a better alternative to the shitty Arduino Editor...
One major error in principle is that PlatformIO will infiltrate an existing Atom installation. PlatformIO can not be installed in parallel (as far as I know) and it will not warn before doing serious changes to your nicely nurtured Atom configuration.
