You can have a look at Choosy (https://choosy.app/) if a paid solution works for you. (Not affiliated at all, just a happy user).

Maybe you can build a better workflow with BetterTouchTool (https://docs.folivora.ai/docs/1003_did_open_url.html) or Choosy (https://choosy.app/)?

You can also use BetterTouchTool for that. I have CTRL-OPTION-CMD-M set up on macOS :)
Re:Ask HN: How to host simple Rails API to get 99.99% uptime on Saturday August 05, 2023 @10:03AM (#37012109)
Thanks, will check it out.

Well „need“ of course it a bit ambiguous. „It would make our life substantially easier if we had 99.99%“ would pretty much summarize it :)

You should probably add that it is your company ;)

Ask HN: How to host simple Rails API to get 99.99% uptime

I am looking to host a relatively simple Rails API. From a technical side the complexity is quite low but availability is crucial and should hopefully be 99.99% or better. To keep the DevOps overhead low I am thinking about using DigitalOcean. The current idea is* Use the "App Platform" with multiple app instances that are load balanced through DO itself (unfortunately only within same region)*...

Re:Atom Was Archived Today on Friday December 16, 2022 @01:35AM (#34011281)
Sad to see, Atom has been my go to editor for the last years. What would you recommend as alternative for the average Ruby / Rails developer? I am looking at Panic Nova, VSCode, Sublime Text and others.

Alfred (https://www.alfredapp.com/) and BetterTouchTool (https://folivora.ai/) really are two of the must-haves for every mac.

Thanks so much, worked for us as well. I created A records for all three of the listed IP addresses but it started working for the first one already.

https://www.postbox-inc.com/ is also a nice alternative (and mostly compatible to Thunderbird - at least when I migrated)

Create a shortcut with this as url (or simply paste it in your address bar):

  javascript:window.location.href='https://m.facebook.com/l.php?u='+encodeURIComponent(window.location.href);

Same here! Although it seems that Ember is getting little love from the HN crowd, we are very happy that we chose it for our company two years ago. I would encourage everyone who is looking be extremely productive and don't worry about plumbing too much to take a deeper look into it.
Re:Google Data Studio on Friday October 13, 2017 @01:20PM (#15467551)
Shameless plug: Have a look at Cluvio (https://www.cluvio.com/) for SQL-based alternative (disclaimer: I work there).
Re:Google Data Studio on Friday October 13, 2017 @01:18PM (#15467535)
You should have a look at https://www.cluvio.com/ - we don't plan to go anywhere (disclaimer: I work there).
Good question! Our aim is to build the best cloud BI platform for SMEs and we currently don't plan to open source Cluvio. However, we do offer a "free forever" plan that allows you to use our platform for free, indefinitely.
For those of you looking for a another fully hosted solution, check out https://www.cluvio.com (full disclosure: I am one of the founders).

Like redash, Cluvio allows you to run SQL queries against your database and quickly visualize results as beautiful, interactive dashboards, which can easily be shared within your company or externally.

We developed our own custom grammar on top of SQL which makes writing time-range related queries a lot easier and allows to parametrize queries, which powers the dashboard interactivity.

We also allow to run custom R script on top of the SQL results, have SQL Alerts that run at specified schedules, allow you to create SQL Snippets and offer a free entry plan.

Currently supported datasources are Postgres, Redshift, MySQL, MariaDB and Amazon Aurora.

Re:Show HN: Cluvio – Free SQL analytics for your business data on Thursday February 02, 2017 @10:49AM (#13551329)
Hey there, after launching Cluvio a bit more than three months ago (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=12684089) we have some exciting news to share today. We just launched a set of new pricing plans that make Cluvio accessible to everyone (and their moms).

Cluvio is a cloud analytics platform that allows you to run SQL queries against your database, visualize the results as beautiful dashboards and share these dashboards within your company.

As of today, Cluvio pricing starts with a completely free plan, Cluvio Free! That's right, completely FREE and you can use it to securely analyze your business data and create interactive dashboards within minutes.

The next step up is a Cluvio Starter plan, also brand new, which targets single analysts that want to have a powerful tool to analyze and visualize data, but do not need to share the results with others. The Starter plan has unlimited query executions and allows to use SQL Alerts and create more dashboards.

Cluvio Pro, already existing, and a new Cluvio Business plan together target the teams that create analytics to share, with internal users or externally.

Please let me know if you have any questions, comments or feedback, will be happy to answer!

Yes, I do, why?
Hi, I'm Marius, one of the founders of Cluvio (https://www.cluvio.com). We just released a huge update to our SQL / R based BI platform that we wanted to share with you.

Would love to hear your feedback and thoughts!
