I'm building a tech startup from Nigeria. The idea is validated and there is demand. My startup solves a pain point I have personally experienced. I made an early decision to build distribution first.
I've gotten to the stage where in order to make anything other than snail-pace progress, I need external investment. Nothing crazy, 35k-50k.
I don't have that sort of money, and the wealthy...
This is a very ignorant take. Americans always want to pin everything on a bogeymen.
The largest beneficiary we know of in this liquidation event was an anonymous trader who shorted bitcoin on Hyperliquid just before Trump's tarrif announcement, and made 88M dollars. You think the Chinese did that ? If the Chinese wanted to nuke any market it would be equities.
Baghdad and Kabul had nowhere near the military capabilities of the Iranians who can close shipping lanes, sink US warships and attack military bases and oil installations in the region, in addition to devastating all the major Israeli cities. In the chaos that ensues, the Chinese and Russians would move in and take advantage. The global economy would grind to a halt and America would spiral into a depression that would take at least a decade to recover from.
All the major social media and messaging platforms are compromised and serve as tools for surveillance, so the Iranian government isn't wrong.

This question has occurred to me a few times.
And you think America is not ?
Unsustainable public debt. $50 trillion in debt maturity must be rolled over mid 2025. Something must give
* AI and LLMs will continue to improve. AI will create a new programming language that will take the world by storm
* Market share for solar continues to increase
* A market crash occurs in the US and a government bailout is instituted.
* The US creates a pretext to go to war with Iran and is defeated.
* Bitcoin is on a trajectory to reach 200k and it will if we get a strong bull season. However the elephant in the room is the House of Cards that is the US financial system. It appears primed to go poof!
* Solar and LLM's will bloom.
>I like index funds so much , that everything else feels a time / effort waste even though I am aspiring to be a programmer , maybe that's partially why I don't see much reason in crypto.
Crypto is the future of money and finance. If you are aspiring to become a programmer you should internalize this and get in.
You hold a very simplistic and naive view.
Anyone who solves AGI will be the government.
I'd your appreciate thoughts on this.
Is this another surveillance tool at the workspace ?
1. I'm writing a book on Git for absolute beginners. I did my research and was shocked to discover many otherwise tech savvy individuals still cannot operate Git from the command line, and use desktop applications (yikes!)
2. An edtech app to learn coding efficiently. AI will create 100x developers but we must create 1x devs.
Features: structured learning, curriculum designed by humans, AI assistance, code samples, covers different languages (Ruby, Rust, JS to start with), and technologies (CL, Nusshell, SQL), numerous exercises. Think of it as an improved version of w3schools
One reason I am disclosing this online is to hold myself accountable. The other is in hope of finding an angel investor.
This is why I swear by chess. Bluffing has minimal value against best play.
> I guess when you're up against anti-vax fear mongering, you need to fight fire with fire.
You do know the vax is associated with a myriad of side effects including clots, strokes, reduced fertility and increase in turbo cancers, contains dna contaminants and was not properly tested don't you ?

You don't understand anything about the power of digital currencies. Every one of your points shows this.
I imagine that the difficulty in getting remote US jobs lies with the stringent regulations around hiring rather than time zones per se.
I may be wrong.
>...Nigeria's crackdown on anonymous SIM cards
Nigerian here, also an opponent of the present government, but why would a crackdown on anonymous SIM cards be an issue for debate ?
I was the primary caregiver for my dad before he died. I learned a lot from close contact with him and came to see him as a person with his striving, achievements and path in life. When I went through his things after he passed away, many things he mentioned in passing began to make more sense - legal documents, receipts, letters, pictures.
(Interestingly, my siblings resent me for this perhaps because they realize they have huge gaps in their knowledge about their father, and spent too little time they with him. It has ruptured whatever relationship we had.)
You did a good thing. Your efforts will sustain the memory of him and give you solace in years to come.
Great job. You might also want to add a filter for tech stack.

Just throwing this out there. Maybe suggestions will help someone.
I suggest you should switch off 'programming mode' once in a while.
Well, it's their money but I do sometimes wonder at the choices they make. Some (not necessarily crypto) seem to me very obvious candidates for failure from the start.

Email notifying all applicants was supposed to arrive latest 19th May. I know a candidate who was accepted, but I haven't gotten an acceptance/rejection letter and neither has a friend who applied.Does anyone know the current status ?
> Is anyone aware of a culture that did/does not have exactly 4 seasons?
Sub saharan people (and many Asian), have two seasons, rainy and dry.
