Re:Thoughts on React and Vue on Wednesday December 05, 2018 @12:14PM (#18610239)
A good point. I like templates because they seem to require less transpilation, which makes the process of development easier overall. Thanks for the reply.
That's a very interesting perspective and it makes sense, especially if Do Not Track is optional and off by default.
This is a really cool application of research to describe something difficult to grok for the average user (myself included) but which really highlights the benefit of using an anonymized search engine with static results. It's like saying, "There's room for us both." But with real metrics and data.

Thoughts on React and Vue

Honestly they are both phenomenal tech stacks. My current thoughts are that Vue is less opinionated and has a lighter transpilation pipeline, but doesn't have anything that can match React Native. What are your thoughts?

It's the UI style.
Re:ForgJs – A lightweight object validator on Monday December 03, 2018 @01:20PM (#18591325)
Very cool idea. Something I would enjoy using is a shorthand syntax for validation rule object declarations eg:

new Validator = ({ age: 'int 22-48' });

If memory serves you can parse that type of string in the Validator constructor and insert the Rule structures you already have in place of it.

Actually, we're one of the most financially paranoid generations in history. Thanks for that by the way.
Can we stop drugging children and just give them a little more recess?
Re:Lenovo to pay $7.3M for installing adware in laptops on Thursday November 29, 2018 @10:53AM (#18561051)
Apple seems interested in keeping things fairly secure, is this a theoretical fear or an exploit I've never heard of?

Million?

Millenials are killing everything. Except the economy. Boomers killed that.
Re:Dell announces security breach on Thursday November 29, 2018 @10:26AM (#18560849)
I think this rests on the architect / technical lead to force their minions to use TDD or something similar. You can't expect a noob out of college to be responsible, that's just asking for trouble.
Has anyone had any issue with "Sold By X, Fulfilled By Amazon"? That usually works well for me.

Thanks. Exactly my thoughts.

I would say, just brief them at the start "I might fire you tomorrow, go in expecting that, we'll set you up something else if I do. Don't rely on this." Kind of like the way you lend money to friends.

That said, you probably shouldn't lend money to friends.

It reminds me of juggling where one ball is money, the other is people, and maybe the third is your own sanity.

I've met a couple of good friends at work. I think good leadership fosters the human soul and the value of the individual as an engine for productivity.

That said, truly good leadership is a rare thing.

In case you were as annoyed as me by the verbosity:

"[A] 2014 review in Science tried to quantify these declines by synthesizing the findings of existing studies and found that a majority of monitored species were declining, on average by 45 percent."

And zergling free.
What did you find you liked about Typescript? I considered it and opted for pure ES6/Next because the typing didn't feel like it would actually help sanitize my data. If I get a bad payload from the server, it's still transpiled at that point, and that's when I really need to know what my data type is. Otherwise I just sanitize at use (like all JS) and the overall overhead is less. Maybe you know something that I don't?
My taste, I'll have you know, is the right taste.

Does this extend to devices made by Huawei? Wasn't Google using them as a manufacturer for their phones?

Re:A small French privacy ruling could remake adtech on Wednesday November 21, 2018 @10:26AM (#18503333)
Of course. But if you recall when you first learned about information security, it would likely involve cookies. Probably the general population is going through that kind of adolescent awakening that we did when we were 10 or so, they just took longer because they sit on the shortbus in comparison.

Re:Don’t work “remotely” on Monday November 19, 2018 @11:32AM (#18487536)
Partial remote is optimal for me, both in quality and speed of how I work. Even if it wasn't at home, I can't stand being in the same physical space for that long, I burn out. Kinesthetic learning something something something productivity efficiency sh ./buzzwords.sh
Most highly popular things are also average things.
Is there really any good reason to hate Amazon for this? It sounds like they gave an offer, and the offer was good, so people wanted it. I like freedom. This sounds like freedom. Is it not?
