What nuance are you referring to?
I don't have a VPS, I have a mini server in my house. I run bunch of publicly available services on it.
Poor innocent early 00s Microsoft corrupted by the system.
The subtitle was so Claudish I immediately bailed on reading this.
If an interviewer said that to me, I would take it to mean "I think you are better than you have presented yourself here". If they were direct and clear about why they were commenting on my demeanour, I don't think it would be a problem for me.
Both of the people you mention are political activists with problematic views, that's why their politics get brought up all the time.
> It's important for us to start recognizing and dialing down this extremist political rage
I don't think it's extremist to believe ethnic-cleansing is bad.
> Like if you don't like whatever the guy who started the Omarchy project believes in, go donate to the opposite side or whatever
People will continue to raise awareness of DHH's racism as long as he holds and shares racist views. Go complain to him if you don't like it.
I'm sure it sucks for you that you're forced to confront how unprincipled you are each time it comes up, but that's your problem.
You're basically saying that propaganda is not effective and then building a steel man to defend it, and I cannot take that starting position seriously.
That's a leading framing, but comparing an individual country and a 27 member trading bloc in that way makes no sense even if it wasn't.
Troll farms existed before GDPR. What I'm talking about is the supercharged disinformation capacity LLMs brought to them.
What do automated content generators have to do with astro-turfing?
> your narrative might make more sense if there were any actual evidence or credibility behind the claims that non-EU states are engaged in anti-EU discourse
The uptick I'm talking about is in the last 2 years.
At least one Israeli Minister has bragged about them doing it.
I don't think you need specific evidence of Russia doing it, it's widely believed to be happening by security professionals. They famously had troll farms of people employed to spread disinformation and that can only have been accelerated by LLMs.
Anti-EU regulation sentiment really seems to have an uptick in line with widespread availability of LLMs.
The EU isn't perfect, but the catastrophising I read feels mostly like astro-turfing attempts at destabilisation.
It's probably more easily noticed from inside the EU.
Not specific to this project, but nowadays when I see "written in rust" I hear "written by Claude".
Boox have been GPL violators for over a decade.
No, I think he's saying the costs don't need to be so high and certain parties are just taking advantage.
I truly don't believe this kind of pedantic correction adds anything to the conversation. We _all_ know how they work technically, it's been beaten to death.
If this succeeds, it's going to be in spite of its branding and marketing.
Can't let a Botox mention go by without highlighting that they've never released the linux kernel source for any of their devices. They've been challenged on it and refused to comply with the GPL for over 10 years now.
I don't think we'll see it before CES in January.

I've seen a similar benefit enforcing a 1 year instead of 3 year TLS cert lifetime limit in the past. It forces more automation and stronger processes.
Again, Zuck's success criteria don't necessarily align with that of others. In fact, I'd expect his success criteria are substantially different to most.
Why are you assuming Zuck's expectations for progress of _his_ product have anything to do with the impact of that category of product for its users?
The baseline engineer in that case must really be something incompetent.
Country filters for Luxembourg and Monaco, no country filter for Ireland?
The argument was for markup to have semantic meaning, not number of lines. Also, NPM was not born for browser JS.
In the 2000s wasn't everything just misused/abused table layouts? Maybe we frequented different places, but that's how I remember it.
There's "becoming more conservative," and then there's what happened to Scott Adams.
