You can get results a billion times better than the horrible, disgusting look of ChatGPT in less than a couple of seconds with a model like Krea or MOSS, and ComfyUI. With just a 8GB VRAM GPU or so...

Just visit Civitai, look at the pages for the base models, filter for images with the ComfyUI workflow in them, then you can just download and drag and drop them onto your local ComfyUI app.

Re:A dark horse enters China's AI race: StartLux on Thursday September 03, 2026 @07:44AM (#49548743)
It's just another Qwen 3.6 27B finetune (not even 3.8...), claiming to beat TB-sized models. This is probably the 57th model like that, just this week, claiming the same thing... And they never deliver, to say the least.
Re:AI psychosis is the new leadership blind spot on Friday August 07, 2026 @11:02AM (#49211540)
Yes, it's pure, horrible, AI slop. And as usual, all the people that mentioned this got downvoted here. Unfortunately, HN users can't even tell this crap from useful text.
Re:Why I Stopped Arguing with People on Wednesday July 01, 2026 @11:55AM (#48748905)
Most people can easily tell the difference between useless bot crap (like the article), and genuine human comments (like the one you're replying to).

Too bad you and most HN commenters nowadays can't...

Re:Snowboard Kids 2 is 100% Decompiled on Friday May 29, 2026 @09:43PM (#48331542)
When people work for an insanely difficult project for more than 2 years, they probably pick something they personally love and don't need any external request.
Re: on Tuesday May 19, 2026 @11:44PM (#48202853)
Thank you for mentioning it. Too bad you got downvoted to hell as usual when anybody dares to do it.

The original post and every comment by OP is so full of AI slop ("the biggest surprise!", "one thing I didn't expect!", "the biggest challenge!", etc. etc.") that is absolutely painful to read. I still can't believe most people (especially here on HN, I thought we were a bit better than this) can't notice all this stuff.

What's much worse, it's that all these people posting this useless slop are so dishonest ("I definitely use LLMs to help write things - but this is my draft!") that it makes me really nauseous... This is the worst time to be an internet user if you have more than 2 points of IQ.

Re:Stop Using Ollama on Thursday April 16, 2026 @03:58AM (#47790030)
That's because it was fully written by an LLM, as usual lately with all the articles on the front page of HN.

No wonder I get downvoted to hell every time I mention this... People here can't even tell anymore. They just find this horrible slop completely normal. HN is just another dead website filled with slop articles, time to move on to some smaller reddit communities...

Every single line in this article was written by an LLM...
Only the images? The entire article is pure AI slop. But no one even cares anymore... People seem to love this kind of empty text, or no one even reads anymore, or everyone here is a bot already... Who knows.
Re:A dot a day keeps the clutter away on Tuesday March 31, 2026 @10:03PM (#47595897)
Yeah, I've been just slowly blocking all these domains, users, etc. But nowadays it's just unbearable. We have already lost this war.

And seeing every day this kind of crap at the top of the front page of the websites I used to love, with hundreds of comments of intelligent people not even noticing all this useless AI slop... Very sad future ahead.

Re:I am definitely missing the pre-AI writing era on Monday March 30, 2026 @03:00PM (#47578322)
Yes, these people are so unbelievably stupid that think others more intelligent than them can't tell when they use AI to write their stuff. And then they act so annoyed when they get exposed... It's unbearable.

The article here is still full of AI slop, and so many people in the comments are defending the author. Blows my mind.

Thank you.

Every time I complain about this kind of useless AI slop I get downvoted to hell and get dozens of comments saying "it doesn't look AI at all", so I don't even bother anymore. It's incredibly sad, I expected much more from this community... But it looks like it'll soon be dead like the rest of the internet.

1984 is N°22 on that list...
Re: on Thursday March 19, 2026 @09:32AM (#47439135)
I was thinking more like this one: https://github.com/AdamNizol/ComfyUI-Anima-Enhancer/

"It adds the Anima Layer Replay Patcher, which can enhance fine detail and coherence by replaying selected internal blocks during denoising."

Re: on Wednesday March 18, 2026 @09:52PM (#47433797)
Wow, every single word in the original post and on that README.md is pure LLM. How sad.

In any case, this has been done at least since the very first public releases of Llama by Meta... It also works for image models. There are even a few ComfyUI nodes that let you pick layers to duplicate on the fly, so you can test as many as you want really quickly.

Re:Meta will shut down VR Horizon Worlds access June 15 on Wednesday March 18, 2026 @01:43PM (#47428826)
Please read the HN Guidelines: https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html

Specifically this part: "Don't post generated comments or AI-edited comments. HN is for conversation between humans."

Please, HN mods, no more ChatGPT articles...

I'd ask any LLM myself if I cared to read their empty words.

Re:Mercury 2: The fastest reasoning LLM, powered by diffusion on Wednesday February 25, 2026 @12:02PM (#47154253)
A simple test I just did:

Me: What are some of Maradona's most notable achievements in football?

Mercury 2 (first sentence only): Dieadona’s most notable football achievements include:

Notice the spelling of "Dieadona" instead of "Maradona". Even any local 3B model can answer this question perfectly fine and instantly... Mercury 2 was so incredibly slow and full of these kinds of unforgivable mistakes.

Re:Street Fighter II, the World Warrier (2021) on Sunday January 04, 2026 @01:11PM (#46490549)
That one looks extremely fake... No one would mistake サーカス as circuit, which is usually written as サーキット and is pronounced completely different. Also, calling the sport and everything around it as "the F1 circus" is very common in Japan and other parts of the world.
Re:Show HN: Instantly Translate Manga – TranslateManga on Wednesday February 26, 2025 @11:41PM (#43191427)
You're worried about something that only comes up once every few thousands of sentences...

I'd be more worried because even the simplest and shortest sentences are horribly translated in those example pages.

Re:Sora: Creating video from text on Thursday February 15, 2024 @07:54PM (#39391618)
It wouldn't be too hard to do any of the things you mention. See ControlNet for Stable Diffusion, and vid2vid (if this model does txt2vid, it can also do vid2vid very easily).

So you can just record some guiding stuff, similar to motion capture but with just any regular phone camera, and morph it into anything you want. You don't even need the camera, of course, a simple 3D animation without textures or lighting would suffice.

Also, consistent look has been solved very early on, once we had free models like Stable Diffusion.

Maybe removing the lazy posts from the training data.
Re:RPG Engine for the Nintendo 64 on Tuesday November 28, 2023 @03:08AM (#38443498)
That game is from a second-party developer.
With SD I can generate at least 15k images daily on my old laptop, I can train it with new styles, characters, real people, etc.; download thousands of new styles, characters, real people, etc. from Civitai, and best of all, never worry about ever losing access to it, being censored, having to jailbreak it, being snooped on, etc.

Plus a million other tools that the community has made for it, like ControlNet or things like AnimateDiff to create videos. I can also easily create all kinds of scripts and workflows.

Re:Yuri Knorozov on Thursday April 27, 2023 @04:05AM (#35724755)
The most interesting bit for me is that "he deciphered the Mayan script when he learned that the world scientific community considered it impossible."

This part is sadly very common in all sciences: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yuri_Knorozov#Critical_reactio...

It's always been bad for you.
