Judging by the contents of the list for the Netherlands, we are doing quite well: https://whynohttps.com/country/nl

Most pressing ones are uva.nl (major University) and at5.nl (local but relatively large news site).

Re:The Math of Card Shuffling on Monday June 18, 2018 @03:33AM (#17336509)
So why won't you play a truly random shuffled deck?
I would say that working closely together with the front-end devs is key. Listen to what they are trying to do, and see where you can help. Mind you though, that it should be balanced, because you want to avoid doing work that is unnecessarily complicated to make the life of the front-enders better.

Number 31 ("Play poker well enough to win the World Series of Poker.") is a pretty empty statement, as 1 tournament does not reflect your skill at poker at all. Short term variance is too big of a factor when it comes to one 1 tournament result.
Re:IPv6 Wall of Shame on Thursday September 15, 2016 @03:31AM (#12504088)
For those who are looking to navigate to some of those pages, be aware that there are a few nsfw sites on the wall of shame.
Re:Roads to Rome on Friday December 11, 2015 @06:28AM (#10716499)
Very cool maps indeed, would love to have this on my wall sometime.
Re:PHP 7 Released on Wednesday December 02, 2015 @07:14AM (#10662471)
That sounds amazing, do you have any sources / benchmarks to back this up?
Re:Chrome is developing a Sidebar API on Tuesday July 07, 2015 @10:06AM (#9845497)
Important part here:

"Does this API expose any functionality to the web?"

"No"

Re:Tota11y on Monday June 29, 2015 @08:14AM (#9797553)
But why would you place this tab on a live site? It's a great tool for developers, but there's no need to place this in production imo.
Re:Show HN: WhatsApp for Desktop on Monday June 22, 2015 @08:56AM (#9757922)
The default desktop app for Hangouts doesn't float your boat? https://support.google.com/hangouts/answer/6098392?hl=nl
I think something of a timeout on the message bubbles is needed.. As to not cloud the screen too much. Nice work though :)
Re:Google Maps 2D Driving Simulator on Monday February 16, 2015 @04:57AM (#9056059)
Good stuff, small remark: the braking and accelerating on the car are pretty poor (as in, both take forever).
Re:Commits.io – Create a poster from your code on Wednesday February 04, 2015 @05:11AM (#8996090)
Fun stuff, also, is this typo on purpose? "Comming soon"
Re:Airport ABCs: An Explanation of Airport Identifier Codes (1994) on Wednesday November 05, 2014 @03:08AM (#8560921)
Is it me or is this page really scrambled on Chrome 38/Mac OS X Yosemite? It loads fine, but as soon as I scroll down, the background is black and the letters get scrambled in blue
Re:CSS: It was twenty years ago today on Friday October 10, 2014 @04:38AM (#8436782)
"What’s your opinion on pre-processors like SASS and LESS? Does CSS have anything to learn from them?

(...) My own favorites would be nested comments, and single-line comments (starting with //). When CSS turns 50 I’ll tell you why they were not part of CSS from the beginning."

Now, this makes me really wonder why single-line comments weren't part of the spec from the beginning. And I can't wait 30 years... Anyone an idea?

Re:Dutch Girl Fakes a Trip to South East Asia on Saturday September 13, 2014 @02:39PM (#8313177)
For what its worth, she mentioned in a television show that she got a 7 (out of 10) mark for the project, which was people thought was rather low. The fact is that she does a kind of art study and that the teacher was not all to impressed with the 'art' she created for the project.
Re:BBC News website: responsive design in beta on Wednesday March 05, 2014 @07:29AM (#7346561)
A representative of the technical team did a talk at the Mobilism conference. Which was my favourite of all talks that conference. Interesting stuff.

Is this what the app by Pokerstars uses? The app is not available in the Play Store due to the gambling nature of the app, but it checks for updates itself when opened.
Did this exploit actually got exploited? Or did they notify the site and gave them an opportunity to fix it before they released their findings?
Re:Show HN: Bubblin on Friday February 07, 2014 @10:14AM (#7196565)
Nice work.

I can imagine it would be appreciated that the page jumps to top when you turned a page, don't you think?

Re:The New York Times Redesign is Live on Wednesday January 08, 2014 @09:19AM (#7023563)
So they still hold on to the old train of thought of desktop users and mobile users. Shame really.
Re:Animation to Explain CSS Triangles on Tuesday October 08, 2013 @03:55AM (#6513549)
That's essentially doing the same trick twice, only with a slightly larger version that matches the border color of the box and is positioned behind the smaller triangle.
Re:HTML5 Flash Player (Shumway) lands in Mozilla on Wednesday October 02, 2013 @05:31AM (#6481484)
Why is this called a HTML5 Flash player? What is HTML5 about it?
Re:Disable Facebook Chat Seen Status - Chrome Extension on Friday August 16, 2013 @05:33AM (#6223003)
Facebook should implement a setting where you can disable this feature, so others cannot see if you have read their message, but at the same time this info is hidden for you as well.
Re:Non-Scientific Reasons To Do A PhD In The Netherlands on Monday June 10, 2013 @09:08AM (#5854047)
First time I've read an argument against the lack of language barrier, interesting, and point well made.
Re:DynamoDB Local Secondary Indexes on Thursday April 18, 2013 @11:04AM (#5570994)
Ah, nice feature addition. I recently started using DynamoDB and was wondering why the range was restricted to only one field.
Re:Fake holidays are the new infographics on Wednesday March 27, 2013 @10:42AM (#5449653)
I guess I missed the news that explains the link to infographics in the title. Can somebody explain where this title comes from?
Interesting approach, at first glance I was not really convinced, but seeing the possible applications in wearable electronics, this might be the ideal solution.
