A great reminder on the power of setting up a dev/emulation environment to prototype ideas quickly
I like this part:
A good example is when Michael Jackson passed away. His estate told the IRS his name and likeness were worth $2,105. But the IRS said it’s worth $434 million. The Tax Court eventually settled on roughly $4.15 million. Now picture that argument repeating every single year for every wealthy person in the country.
At bottom of article click link to load all of moby dick in a single GIF. To play on ios, long press and select ’play animation’.
ImageMagick was created and written in C by John Cristy (also known as Cristy) in 1987 while working at DuPont

Porkbun has treated me right for years. Will continue to use them
This shows the license plate readers i added last week on openstreetmap so we know where the data comes from. Nice render on their map - even shows camera direction
i added generic LPR’s - and they show on mapquest, so be aware its not just flock on their map.
To enable the view on mapquest, i could not figure it out on web, used ios app; layers / surveillance
Ios app; https://apps.apple.com/us/app/mapquest-gps-navigation-maps/i...

There is something elegant about a pure hydraulic system that when all power is gone it still connects my brake lever to a brake caliper - i like the mostly fail safe implications of that design. As an EE, an MCU that decides to not follow its input 100% of the time - when say a wire gets corroded, shorter or disconnected gives me pause when it comes to reliably halting my multi ton machine at speed.
I agree, I need more time to score! extend the game!
Scrolling through pics on mobile is difficult. Wanted to see all 29 steps but couldnt scroll it reliably.
I am thrilled that my type-ohs which I haven't been bothered to fix for years now positively indicate I am a human...... PERFECT.

Early work on hardware/firmware reverse engineering starts with teardown and analysis of a system. This 1 hour video follows the progress of reverse engineering $15 radio hardware.
Excellent writeup. Thank yiu for showing the details step by step.
Is it a beeb or a beep? Might be a type-o on the main page
Awesome you knew their names! I have connected with Bryce through his development of Go Map!! For open street maps.
My heart goes out to you fellow parent - work hard to get the help needed and through the difficult time.
Moved to nordic nRF52840 based system (RAK) because of the 9mA average draw to run Meshtastic for LoRa radio at 900mhz. Longest link so far from flat land is about 40 miles. Moving up the mountain to see what improved line of site can do.
Nordic chip is super impressive and power efficient compared to ESP32
I map many trails on osm from personal site surveys and a combination of sat imagery and my gpx files. No way google is doing that because there is no one to steal the data from. It was me, the enthusiast that put it in osm directly. That’s just me and the trails I load tho. Example - Latest was short one at monkeyface falls.

long time editor of osm here. what you describe is what the rapid [1] editor from meta does where user is forced to manually select objects overlayed sat imagery. is limited to 50 objects before user must push. a great method i think

I live in an urban environment and one day when i got the lawn mower out of the shed felt some resistance. A regular 5hp gas powered push mower usually rolls ok but on this day it was stuck. After wrestling it out of the shed i started to turn it over to see what the hangup was and low and behold a small skunk walks out and strolls away. I was a little worried i was going to get sprayed, but also super excited about seing a skunk. It did not spray.
