Re:Show HN: Huzzah – a novel approach to coding with AI on Friday August 21, 2026 @05:29AM (#49385735)
What is your solution to this problem? Surely ranting about it online isn't going to help?
They are not evaluating human beings though. They evaluate a textual representation of a human being’s work experience.

Not that I agree with this AI approach but when hiring, the real test begins after this initial hurdle

There is a feature compatibility list…
Cool project! I've been playing around with a couple of different implementations of an infinite canvas.

One of the reasons why I did not go with an HTML based approach is because the XY translation gets really laggy with a couple dozen items.

Is that something you thought about and accounted for?

Refering to football as foot egg when it’s actually a ball as opposed to the hand egg in the US is weird to me.

OT: La Liga shouldn’t have this kind of power and it’s good to see the court take a stance

I can imagine that the process of fabrication relies on tweaking a tremendous amount of parameters. In a sense seasoning a skillet and perfecting it to the max

Do you refer to the LOTR trilogy as The Hobbit's older brother here? I was under the impression that The Hobbit was the first book in this saga?

There is also Dokploy which is what I've been using on my homelab for a while. https://dokploy.com/

<Insert every cloud provider here>. There are countless posts on HN that describe people and businesses being blocked by a cloud provider like GCP. Hetzner is by all means not an outlier.
To me, blaming an activity which requires active participation for “brain-drain” is such a weird and quite dated thing. Take social media for example, these require no active participation other than moving your thumb up and down, and is in my opinion the real brain rot these days.

People will always find a way to get their dopamine, be it video games, reading, watching stuff, etc.

Don’t pick out a single thing and make it the boogey man.

I have no idea what you are talking about, I've used fedora for over a year now and aside from some tweaking, which I explicitly did myself, I've never had to go into some weird configs to change anything.

It just works

What’s the benefit of abstracting something?
Re:How to Not Get Screwed over as a Software Engineer on Thursday November 02, 2023 @01:33PM (#38117145)
For a lot of people, work happiness is also a big factor, as it should. You’re spending at least 1/3rd of your whole day at your work. Choosing a specific path does not make you smarter per definition
Re:Show HN: Open source Postman alternative with type safety on Wednesday September 06, 2023 @03:05AM (#37402102)
I would argue the offering is actually very clear. A nice demo is included. If you’re not using any REST clients it might be a bit harder to understand but I doubt you’re the intended target group
Re:Show HN: I made a pretty relaxing puzzle game on Wednesday November 23, 2022 @08:28AM (#33718849)
I agree. I liked the idea but seeing an ideal number just puts pressure on something that shouldn't be.

Maybe create a casual/competitive toggle?

Anyways good job OP :)

Re:Python is Actually Portable on Wednesday July 27, 2022 @04:02AM (#32247989)
I think what is happening here is that the python interpreter can be used as an executable. This way you don't have to install python on the host machine and can carry your programs on a USB stick for example.

Correct me if I'm wrong

Great Video! I love how systematic you are with your testing. Instant subscribe!

I was thinking that too but this seems to be in line with the https://thispersondoesnotexist.com series of websites where they are AI generated

Re:Tesla opens charging network to other EVs for the first time on Tuesday November 02, 2021 @04:52AM (#29078650)
I'm happy we don't let the building/access of infrastructure to companies only and instead let them work something out with the government/EU. In a country where space is not abundant, it would be hell to search through multiple proprietary stations to find the right charger.
Oh yeah, I see what you mean and I agree with you!
While the project itself is interesting, the styling of the website is quite enchanting as well!

The domains you listed are not really disproving my point. I'm certain that programs could be made in JavaScript for these domains but, like I said in my first comment, it's probably a bad fit.

For example: Espruino is a platform for embedded JavaScript.

I just think about it this way: Just because you wouldn't doesn't mean you couldn't

Re:iOS 15 Humane on Thursday June 10, 2021 @09:10AM (#27460271)
I recently switched from Android to iOS and it irritates me that Apple push their own product multiple times a week. It might be because my account is new but at least once a week I get notifications of the free year of apple tv and apple arcade without any way to disable this (if you guys know of one please respond)

Besides the notifications I think it's a dark pattern from Apple to actually show a red number badge above the settings app when there is no actionable item except the two things mentioned above.

How come we are affected by this in the Netherlands?

Re:Teach Yourself Programming in Ten Years (1998) on Sunday June 06, 2021 @07:03AM (#27412252)
I would say it is. It didn't start as one but over the decades it sure has become a general purpose language.

I can't find a domain where JS wouldn't fit the description. While it may be a bad fit for certain problems, it can still be done.
