"the module system doesn't let you build modular production code and apps like Python does"
Can you elaborate on this?

How is julia or it's type system not suitable for general purpose programming? Multidispatch seems like a generalization of python...and fields don't have to be typed.

What sort of foundational mathematics is required to fully consume this book?
I assume multivariate calculus and linear algebra?

Isn't the entire universe one quantum system? If so, how can we talk about discrete systems.
Also, when you say there are not discrete things, do you mean in the QFT sense of field excitations?

You seem to be correct.
However, Numba's type system and syntax is far less expressive and powerful than Julia's.

can you try it in julia?

I think its just a matter of time before this happens (its mature enough or an important app is released).
Julia is designed for general purpose computing from day one, but this community is not dealing with the same painpoints that scientists have been.
