But children implies they will learn and replace you, We will be more like elders with dementia to them.

Universities, at least, should be given access
Re:The Four Horsemen of Agentic Coding on Friday October 02, 2026 @01:17PM (#49936032)
No come on. 4.8 was borderline unusable. I get intelligible results from 5.5
Re:The Four Horsemen of Agentic Coding on Friday October 02, 2026 @01:16PM (#49936015)
And even for active steering, does it require reading the code? Iteration can be done on the result of the work itself, abstracting code away
Re:The Four Horsemen of Agentic Coding on Friday October 02, 2026 @01:15PM (#49935997)
Ok, if when it happens you just tell it, it does rewrite it better. Not always human coworkers can do that :)
Re:The Four Horsemen of Agentic Coding on Friday October 02, 2026 @01:09PM (#49935940)
DHH, antirez, steipete all said something along the same line, about not needing to read all code anymore. Are they used to unmonitored quality too?
Re:The Four Horsemen of Agentic Coding on Friday October 02, 2026 @11:28AM (#49934615)
Disagree on the slop point. By now the code of frontier models works well, and the need to read it is gone. The Claude word salad problem was pretty much solved with the 5.5 opus release.

The other 3 points made in article make sense though.

It used to be true before Luna but right now flash and flash lite are not competitive at all

Capex on data centers can be for additional gcp capacity for their customers, not necessarily spend for internal r&d.

If anybody from Apple is reading, just give this article link to claude or codex and have it fixed! The work has already being done for you!
Re:Goodbye Google on Friday September 25, 2026 @07:52PM (#49851662)
Most catholics would never say something like that. They hold on to the traditions but reject the theology. Protestants take religion seriously, and that is fanatism. You can’t be so disconnected from reality and not being a fanatic. Best case, you are a harmless fanatic, but nonetheless.
Re:Goodbye Google on Friday September 25, 2026 @06:09AM (#49842419)
Believing “the jesus of the bible is real and has a plan for me” is totally normal for you?

This one clearly is if you just read the linked article
Re:Claude discovers a novel enzyme system with CRISPR-like repeats on Thursday September 24, 2026 @03:03AM (#49827216)
It's a totally different technique though than what parent is referring to. The one you are referring to is used to take advantage of image and video compression algorithms

Maybe not them, but their children could do it. Italy's capability to assimilate is underrated.
Re:Will Open Source Survive the Agents That Replaced It? on Tuesday September 22, 2026 @09:05AM (#49800647)
I think there will be a difference between foundational software and application software. The more you go to the outer layer the more code will be generated on the spot, throw-away, single usage. On the other extreme, foundational software that is battle tested, security hardened, has survived waves of AI-hacking, will become irreplaceable and crystallise as a semi-immutable layer. Open source is in the best position to win foundational software while agents will dominate the outer layer of disposable code.

Does this have a more generous allowance than ngrok? From what I can read no limits are mentioned
It’s based on a new and larger pre train if I understand correctly, hence the major version.

Re:The New MCP Roadmap on Saturday August 22, 2026 @12:58PM (#49401546)
Does mcp guarantee that, per se?
Customers of a language model don’t care or notice about the quality of the language produced by the model?

And your reasoning to get to this conclusion? Obscured like Claude’s thinking traces?

Everybody is complaining about this, at this point I’m sure they will deliver a tone of voice change in the 5.1 releases. Possibly with a new set of problems though, especially if this is part of an effort to obscure thinking to reduce distillation efficacy. In that case I believe Anthropic is doing damage to themselves. Caring about the quality of your product is the best strategy, the competition will come no matter what.

Ah so luna still wins, unless you deploy on your own hardware

Why is it not included in the Pareto line intelligence/cost chart?

This one from thinking machines: https://thinkingmachines.ai/blog/defeating-nondeterminism-in... Was discussed a lot also here on hn
