Re:WhatsApp backdoor allows snooping on encrypted messages on Friday January 13, 2017 @04:04PM (#13394696)
There was a different commenter, possibly in a different HN thread, who was explaining that as an Egyptian resident he thought the government was blocking things like Whatsapp and Signal to protect one of the non government employers in Egypt, the telecommunications industry, which makes money from charging for phone calls and sms messages.

If you're talking about the Billy Bush tape, Trump released a video statement claiming to not be a perfect person, and apologized for his behavior.

Soon after the release of the video statement, Trump qualified the apology with the "it was locker room talk, Bill Clinton has done way worse on a golf course, I apologize if anyone was offended."

Too bad he didn't just stick with his original video statement!

I have watched a lot of footage and read many accounts of Liquidators who thought they really were fulfilling their duty to the Motherland.

I suppose it could all be a Soviet psyop, but to me it's convincing.

I showed a Ukrainian a photo of Steven Seagal holding gift melons from the president of Belarus, her response was "Only old people who don't care about radiation buy produce from Belarus"

The FBI estimates about 3,000 people go missing, permanently, in the US every year. People get reported missing all of the time, but they are found quickly.
You obviously know a lot more about this than I do. I don't think we are arguing about anything. The Langfocus video mentions the 2 saints and Church Slavonic.

There are many debates on youtube about how much of 1 slavic language a speaker of a different slavic language can understand.

I was recently listening to an episode of Sean's Russia blog that briefly discussed how much Russian is spoken in Ukraine. http://seansrussiablog.org/2015/04/09/post-maidan-ukraine-an...

I was listening to an episode of This American Life recently, the interview subject, who sounded Greek to me, was repeating the Old Slavonic liturgies he sang in his youth during Byzantine Orthodox services.

I'll have to read and find out if Old Slavonic and Church Slavonic are different or the same thing.

I'm not a time traveler or the poster you are asking but I suggest you watch this, history of the evolvement of Russian

Libya and Ethiopia would like a word with you.

Humans sort it later in the process. The elderly are just sorting it a little earlier.

I follow Matt Taibbi's work, he had nothing to do with the false rape story reporting.
Re:A man who cleans up after plane crashes on Monday December 26, 2016 @01:34PM (#13259231)
For the members of the audience ENRAGED by ads during their reading experience, I will summarize the key points in the article that you can use in your daily life to survive plane crashes:

Never inflate your floatation vest until you exit the plane.

Don't take your shoes off until you're sure your plane has successfully taken off.

Put your shoes on a few minutes before your plane starts landing.
