Then they might start putting traceable additives to foods to better track you.... eg: you eat at restaurant X.... or shared food with person Y (by analyzing combinations of additives)... or used too much of drug Z...
lets aim for perfect privacy and see where that gets us, how about that....

Re:Documents confirm Apple is building self-driving car on Saturday August 15, 2015 @01:26PM (#10066042)
Apple would probably try to restrict where you can drive too... and if you cover the windows with tint that doesn't have the right RFID tag embedded in them, forget about it, you can't start the car.
A WiFi-only cellphone with Ubuntu, Cyanogenmod, FirefoxOS or Sailfish as an OS along with a mobile hotspot device that provides a WiFi access point might be able to get around this issue of the baseband modem having access to your CPU and memory [1].

is it even possible to get perfect privacy with a smart phone?
There used to be Pepsi Edge that was half sugar and half splenda (probably high fructose corn syrup) but it was discontinued for some reason one year after introduction in 2005... there is now Pepsi Next but I think that it is 70% high fructose corn syrup
Would you rather have a slow virus scanner or a computer that is constantly slowed down by a virus scanner that is not always needed?
Re:The Electric Car on Monday July 13, 2015 @07:07PM (#9881754)
To me the best parts of an electric car is that the power-train assembly is much simpler then with a gas powered one and it can be powered with pretty much any kind of energy... whatever feeds your home. and the downfall is of course the range.
couldn't you use the signal from the target's phone instead? ... cell, wifi or bluetooth.... whichever suits you
Place a remote controlled gun next to that camera and you have a remote hunting system? (probably illegal in most jurisdictions though)
Plain java software can also have exploits made for them but they are not as widespread so it is not as common or not worth the trouble
Re:UDP and me on Friday May 29, 2015 @07:02PM (#9628053)
Even though this was a joke, UDP does need to be use in the correct applications, I don't know why I am getting down-voted for this...
Re:UDP and me on Thursday May 28, 2015 @10:50PM (#9622420)
you used it in the wrong occasion
Re:Jump – Experiences like you're actually there on Thursday May 28, 2015 @07:29PM (#9621847)
Maybe they could write white on white and then it would finally be completely unreadable, nice design as usual Google
also, to prevent conflicts of interests, sometimes it is better if someone else does it for you
I was, and I am still looking forward to Firefox OS. Not because of the cheap devices, but because it is open, it's html apps and it isn't run by the same type of company that makes Android or iOS.
but perhaps they need to develop new production methods to avoid the use of pesticides, otherwise, there might not be enough food for everybody? try to grow a garden if you haven't yet
I am not one of those either, he has done some good, but he hasn't done anything that I was planning on him to do (thinking (un-)PATRIOT Act and Guantanamo for example).
Re:Uber: Disability Laws Don’t Apply to Us on Friday May 22, 2015 @12:23PM (#9589286)
Yeah, if you get everyone else to not use Uber, you won't be able to use it either because it will be in business anymore. I have never used them but they sure hope to avoid all existing laws... some cities have even written specific laws that apply only to them because of that.
It seems like it would be a lot safer to elect Rand Paul as US President then it was President B. Obama
Re:Improve your touch typing on Wednesday May 20, 2015 @03:37PM (#9578692)
or just add a non-sliding shelf under your desk to remove the temptation from sliding
maybe someone with unmet basic needs would make a better use of the Internet then the average Facebook user, but that's just a guess.
Re:How I do my computing on Sunday May 17, 2015 @08:58PM (#9562411)
I would be really surprised if he followed his advices 100% of the time, but they sure are a good start for getting you to think.
Re:Hyperlapse makes first-person videos smooth and speedy on Thursday May 14, 2015 @02:39PM (#9546773)
I can't download it from the Play Store either... but it didn't tell me that it was because I wasn't part of Google Plus... I even tried a few Google accounts and different browsers (in case addons were blocking something necessary). I guess I will pull out my unused Windows Phone.

The error I got:

Sorry - nothing to see here.

There may be several reasons: The app you’re looking for doesn't exist or the app developer is not currently running a test or you are not eligible to participate in the testing program. If you received the link to this page from someone, we recommend you contact them for more information.

Re:Google Moves Its Corporate Applications to the Internet on Wednesday May 13, 2015 @03:03PM (#9541220)
Does Bruce have his open-wifi clients connections pass through a VPN (in-between him and clients destination) ...
Re:Lily – Drone camera on Wednesday May 13, 2015 @12:40PM (#9540179)
Sounds plausible but I haven't read about this before and would like to know more, do you have a reference handy?
