Adding Java class inline editing without decompilation feature to https://jar.tools/class-decompiler - so you can update some class values (number or strings, or event access modifiers) without needing to recompile the .class file. I called it Tweaks
Re:Ask HN: What Are You Working On? (July 2026) on Monday July 13, 2026 @09:03AM (#48892063)
Adding more and more features to https://mdview.io (the best way to read technical docs). Now I am adding CLI support for the features like publishing, custom slug creation, pdf rendering and more
what is the use case of this application? Who may need it?
Re:Markdy: Like Mermaid Diagrams, but for Motion on Thursday June 25, 2026 @05:29AM (#48671066)
My goal is to build the only app you need for reading technical documentation. I am working on it daily for the past 5 months, and almost every day I have a new feature which I want to share with HN people and try it out
Re:Markdy: Like Mermaid Diagrams, but for Motion on Thursday June 25, 2026 @04:48AM (#48670739)
Mermaid diagrams are awesome, the usual pain points which I am trying to solve in https://mdview.io is to allow to fix broken diagrams visually: you hit Quick Fix and then given 3 fix propositions to choose from. Sounds complicated but it works in 80% of times
Re:A website that lists websites to submit your website to on Thursday June 18, 2026 @12:53PM (#48588180)
boosting DR rating is the biggest psyop of indie hackers: it's temporal and has zero effect on anything. All my websites are 3 to 6 DR points. https://mdview.io has 5 DR and brings in 500 uniq users per day organically
Re:Ask HN: What are you working on? (June 2026) on Sunday June 14, 2026 @03:19PM (#48531517)
I like it!

https://mdview.io - the best way to read big technical documentations. Right now I am working on Grill Me feature for rigorously questioning and stress-testing plans or designs without leaving the app ui
This is quite useful tool, especially for the cases where internet access is limited (the flights for example). I implemented it as a separate feature in mdview.io: for example you can export a document as a html file for offline usage, with all the presentation features like reach tables, mermaid and etc built in. Example https://mdview.io/s/why-markdown-became-default-format-for-a... then try to Export - Export HTML
btw did you know that ER diagrams are supported by Mermaid diagrams: https://mdview.io/mermaid?example=working-er It's not that pretty as in your app, but it does the work
In my project https://mdview.io I support Latex, but sometimes people share some weird types of syntax which looks like Latex but not rendered correctly. Haven't' found a good way to fix it, probably I will use some hybrid approach which I adopted for broken Mermaid diagrams (LLM + heuristics)
Re:macOS Container Machines on Wednesday June 10, 2026 @05:27AM (#48473719)
Interesting from a Docker perspective, but I’m more interested in it as a sandbox for AI agents and untrusted code execution.

I wrote about that angle here: https://igorstechnoclub.com/sandbox-exec/

Feels like the spiritual successor to sandbox-exec, but with VM-level isolation.

Year ago I made for myself a simple jar editor https://jar.tools, now it has 8000 user’s monthly
the idea is that Quick fix may generate > 1 candidates to choose from, this is why Apply exists. But comment is still valid, I need to improve the UX. Diff it is possible to show but I doubt it's has any interest for the user, because in the end we care how it's rendered
Re:On Rendering Diffs on Saturday May 30, 2026 @09:41AM (#48336078)
this approach is quite similar to what I use for rendering huge markdown files in https://mdview.io : 10MB files renders correctly and even Table of Content works. 15MB renders but scrolling is not as smooth as I wanted, will work on that. The approach described here https://igorstechnoclub.com/how-i-render-10mb-markdown-files...
Re:My two-part desk setup on Sunday May 24, 2026 @12:50PM (#48258883)
To me this feels super artificial, like catalog of every FAANG eng wants to have items. Looks good but with an intention to be instagrammable
One thing I still miss in most markdown tools is good rendering/sharing of large architecture docs and Mermaid diagrams. I ended up building my own markdown file reader - https://mdview.io which handles large diagrams/tables much better than typical note apps
Re:Ask HN: What are you working on? (May 2026) on Sunday May 10, 2026 @05:13PM (#48088111)
Working on https://mdview.io - markdown reader for big documents, including navigatable mermaid diagrams, LaTeX, Fixing broken syntax and ton of other features. It's early stage but getting popular really fast( I guess it just does it's job right)
Re:Fixing Markdown Syntax Is a Nightmare on Saturday May 09, 2026 @10:57AM (#48075490)
Fix MD is quite a handy feature, especially when you have raw Markdown generated who-knows-how. I’ve used it myself multiple times with Mermaid and weird LaTeX notations
