This will directly stop Irish based people shopping on Amazon as the Irish Amazon is useless and everyone buys from Amazon UK. These fees are going to change that big time so it’s not all in favor of Amazon

“stay strapped” is a fantastic sign off.

I assure you there are several Sean Byrnes in Sligo, and at least one in Drumcliff

I feel the age here helps I’ve context for the feedback. like you aren’t going to recommend they go get a 5k worth piece of machinery or say this is absolutely amateur and is a simple concept and doesn’t deserve discussion
We were told no phones in schools. I used my phone. They confiscated it for 2 weeks. I was like yeah fair enough.

I don’t understand why this isn’t done now?

Re:Gleam Is Now on Tangled on Saturday July 18, 2026 @05:36PM (#48962674)
Flink has acquired Cajoo
Actually as of July 1st it is now 38 cents. This is very much the norm

https://www.electricireland.ie/residential/news/detail/elect...

My electricity costs 34 cent per Kw/h and I can’t afford solar panels or a renovation to air to water heating while the government insists we shouldn’t use oil / coal anymore nor logs or turf to heat our homes

edit: I live in Ireland

I too have grown weary
Solving 80% of menial support tickets automatically through agents trained on your help center, freeing up your actual support agents to focus better on meaningful tasks seems a tiny bit more than a grift.

I’m not sure where you’re getting this from but their customers find Fin to be a hugely impactful tool

Re:PwC Report: AI Making Medical Bills Higher on Saturday June 13, 2026 @06:14PM (#48522038)
Just wait until we deploy the AI to optimise healthcare so that people die right at retirement age to maximise tax extraction and minimise healthcare usage

> meat doesn’t scale

great oneliner

People refer to them as “dodgy boxes”. They know it’s illegal and no one cares.

Everyone in the country knows this and either has one or a family member has one

This is very upsetting to see.

I am more and more concerned for my American based friends by the day

Re:Which programming languages are most token-efficient? on Monday January 12, 2026 @04:02AM (#46585884)

If you’re going to write an article atleast do the base research yourself man

Re:I Wasted 8 Years of My Life in Crypto on Monday December 08, 2025 @01:46AM (#46189180)
I think the key difference is the inability to be (easily) deplatformed / locked out which can happen in traditional banking
Re:The Free Software Foundation Europe deleted its account on X on Thursday December 04, 2025 @11:18AM (#46149273)
We want X to exist to contain these people.

The same situation applies to League of Legends and their wonderfully toxic player base

Re:The Free Software Foundation Europe deleted its account on X on Thursday December 04, 2025 @11:16AM (#46149250)
There are plenty of people who love FOSS and terminally on X. Yes they are crazy, paranoid and racist but thats cutting off one of your key markets lol
Re:I hacked Monster Energy on Saturday August 23, 2025 @01:30PM (#44997569)
This feels a bit over the line from disclosure to sharing corporate documents… feels a lil bit crimey
Re:User reports metallic taste in mouth when using laptop on Thursday March 21, 2024 @01:13PM (#39781452)
Just posted a comment saying the exact same myself lmao
Re:User reports metallic taste in mouth when using laptop on Thursday March 21, 2024 @01:12PM (#39781434)
My M2 pro tries to ground itself through my arm on occasion when using it while it is charging so I wouldn’t put it passed apple
Re:My streaming fatigue got so bad I started collecting DVDs on Monday February 26, 2024 @11:14AM (#39513006)
All businesses wanting recurring revenue now is a shame, subscription fatigue is definitely setting in and slowly draining my wallet.

With my “adult” schedule, I find now that I often don’t even watch more than 2 or 3 movies in the month, for which I could easily just purchase a “forever” physical copy second hand.

My concern is now for the video games industry where if we go all digital, we will be locked into these services with no option to only buy that one game you player for a one off fee.

To think I used to recommend Avast to people over paying for Norton or Mcafee (RIP)

I’m not even a real person so good luck catching me
Minecraft mods 14 years ago used to tell you to open the JAR and delete the META-INF when installing them so can’t rely on that one…
Re:OpenFPGA. The future of video game preservation on Monday February 12, 2024 @09:08AM (#39344901)
I purchased the Analogue Pocket and it’s a great little device. Got an archive of all GB and GBC games and can play them off an SD card using some of the FPGA cores available. while expensive, it’s great to have that tactile feel just like an original gameboy with modern quality of life features
While I admire your dedication to privacy by disabling JavaScript, personally I’ve gone crazy and given up due to all the people around me in my life forcing me to live in a privacy nightmare
