why invoke move 37 as evidence against AI creativity? Move 37 was made by an AI. Is it so insane to think that the same selfplay training regimen that AlphaGo underwent to make that move couldn't be applied to LLMs trying to solve math problems?

In all fairness I think this was hyperbole. Those roles are hard for anyone from any school to get, and they seemed biased against hiring newgrads anyway.

As a current CS undergrad, cannot agree more with this sentiment.

This monopolistic pricing is a massive part of the issue. Hopefully the case the DOJ brought against them is progressing well. They've essentially created a cartel of landlords trying to squeeze you for every single penny.

Very few read the inquirer anyways, which reflects the author's idea of a trend away from sitting down and just consuming normal media.

Not familiar with the industry, has cybersecurity taken a turn for the worse in some way?

While I agree with you, his goal is probably to make the most money. But I understand why he might not have phrased it that way. For any company their final goal is obviously to make the most money possible. But this goal is kind of unclear. It's better to approximate it like Mr. Beast does through saying that he makes the best YOUTUBE videos.

Not disagreeing with you, can you give and explain one of the examples where you have seen this?
That would be really cool! There was something kind of like that in 2010, you had to score soccer balls in goals. But there were these obstacles on the field and poles you could climb at the end for extra points. It was called breakaway.
Thanks! I am excited to see what the new game is.

Show HN: High school robotics code/CAD/design binder release

Hello HN!My name is Patrick, and I am a junior at my High School’s FRC robotics team FRC 341 “Miss Daisy” (yes named after the movie). Every year, during the first weekend in January, a new robotics game is released (no it’s not battlebots). The game could be about launching balls into a goal, climbing monkeybars, or placing cubes on a see-saw. This year we were challenged to build a robot that...

Google has 120 billion dollars of cash on hand. Why are they laying off people? They should be poaching talent from other companies experiencing lay-offs to build better products.

Yea ofc they did. They were cousins.
Fill that FOIA request right up.
I completely agree. The Olympic Games are a huge waste. The stadiums built in Rio for the 2016 games are standing there unused and unmanaged and slowly degrading. I think that it was a shame that Rio was chosen to host the Olympic games. Their country should have spent the money on the nearly 50 million people in poverty in Brazil. Imagine if the full 2,754 tons exploded.
