Cool site man! Do you have the project on github to self host/play around too?
it wouldn't even annoy me so bad if I could just make a new account but their auto flag is so strict now
To add on, there's tons of reports of people being wrongly flagged online, and I've done the 'request review' button already. I even get database dumps from Facebook on my console.log sometimes, the whole site is a technical mess. I even get 'DB update errors'/graphql errors popping up when I scroll around the page.

Ask HN: Wrongly banned from Facebook Marketplace – can anyone help at all?:/

Ugh what a cluster**I was recently banned from Facebook Marketplace for no clear reason (some AI algo going wild) and it’s been a huge pain. I live in Thailand where basically everything is done through FacebookI suspect it might’ve happened after I took a trip to Vietnam—maybe something flagged my account as suspicious? But of course, there’s no real way to talk to a human. I even tried...

Do you get a difference between niacin and niacinamide? I also sometimes get a relief of brain fog taking niacin and I wonder what causes it :/

Hey found this searching for AC Joint injuries on HN :(

Also recently had an AC Joint tear and probably in a similar boat to you, time to work on stuff at home haha.

Would love to hear if you have any tips for healing the injury and getting back to sport properly, as I'm a bit worried about it. My contact is in my profile if you want to email. Thanks :)

Re:Are Online Reviews Broken? on Tuesday October 15, 2024 @12:10AM (#41844868)
I'd also be curious if there's any research on a new ranking system that's not only based on 5 stars. Something where it compares your reviews to other reviews you have made in the past and get some type of relative score?
Kind of related, but does anyone have info on the best way to transcribe some hour long audio files of conversation?

Especially if it can detect different people? Would love to have timestamps for some sentences or be able to ‘jump around’ the audio file too.

Haven’t kept up with new AI tools around this :/

I had an idea for a food recommendation website that gets tips from food bloggers/local celebrities. Any ideas on how taste atlas is getting their data? It can't all just be manually entered from wikipedia or something can it?
There is a indiehacker 'hackagu' meetup every Thursday at bwork coworking. Starts at 9am.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to cure human loneliness?
This might be a normal human work pattern : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvk_XylEmLo
Wow I was wondering what was causing ads for 'MaxAi.me' to pop up in every google search result as a 'promoted' ad even though I have adblock on. Well good riddance and turning off extension autoupdate.
This is really cool! I have a Wahoo Tickr sensor already, is it possible to use with that or is something missing in these other sensors that the Polar has? I'm going to try picking up a Polar for this.
Re:Ask HN: What are your favorite iOS/macOS automations? on Monday September 04, 2023 @10:11AM (#37380642)
Mind posting the script? How much space do the images end up taking per day roughly?
Wow also had a similar idea! How are you getting the google review aggregate if you don't mind me asking? Even simply plotting Michelin restaurants seems like such a good idea in retrospect. I wanted to do something similar with famous food bloggers, maybe you can consider adding that to your list. Something like all of Mark Wein's recs on a map, with a link back to the original youtube video. Automatically adding data from different sources is the hard part I couldn't get over, especially since some of the videos don't have a location in the text.
I thought you were using it for dice man-esque decision making :) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dice_Man
I chuckled at the thought of 'AI' being lazy. True AGI will want to take a nap instead of doing work.
Re:Ask HN: Whatever Happened to Udacity? on Friday February 10, 2023 @11:44PM (#34749673)
I paid for a Udacity nanodegree, had a medical problem and literally didn't log into the platform for months. Meanwhile I was getting charged thousands of dollars and when I finally emailed them about it they wouldn't refund me even though I literally didn't take the class. I hope they fail.

Re:The source code for Duelyst, a digital collectible card game on Wednesday January 11, 2023 @05:11AM (#34336886)
Duelyst was an awesome game at the start, loved the pixel art and was a welcome break from Hearthstone. I hate having pay2win in these card games but it kind of makes sense from a business stand point.

Here's an analysis on some of the awesome art in the game: http://kirkbarnett.blogspot.com/p/sketch-page-pros-loose-and...

So surprised that this is being open sourced, usually these games just get lost in the ether.

Re:Show HN: FFmpeg Command Visualizer and Editor on Saturday October 29, 2022 @12:49PM (#33385742)
This is a godsend considering I'm just starting an FFMPEG project right now. Do you have any other resources you recommend to fully grasp FFMPEG and even what it's capable of? This website is awesome btw!
Pretty cool idea to practice skills, I'll take a look at the source code since I'm just getting into React now too :). I'm sure there's an API for something like myfitnesspal for nutritional information, and I second having a simple voting system for best public smoothie recipes.
Re:Show HN: Chesskool – Platform for Chess Improvement on Wednesday June 08, 2022 @02:29AM (#31664023)
I like the idea behind it, looking at the Caro course and a few things:

1. I wish the board was actually bigger, and the notes for each move were easier to read. On my Macbook the sidebar takes up too much space and theirs tons of free space for the board to be bigger. 2. I wish it was more convenient to go down random side lines and then return to the main line.

So mostly usability problems? The idea to make a club-level Chessable is good though, honestly I've wanted a better LiChess Study alternative, the spaced repetition is a good feature to work for but honestly I think usability/smoothness and having easy to understand/read captions for moves and why they are important is better.

If I know why certain moves are better I don't have to memorize them, or it will make it easier to memorize in the future.

Re:1989 Tiananmen Square Protests and Massacre on Sunday June 05, 2022 @07:24AM (#31629951)
It wasn’t when I was there early 2019, but by November it was :/. Was a real bummer, was my non-vpn time waste then.
Really useful tool! I watch a lot of cycling content and people do reviews of random products in the middle of videos, this helps narrow it down!
Making a personal website for a friend of mine. Trying to get back into web development/learn tailwind/react in the process.
Found this thread not being able to save any bookmarks through the 'Pinput' chrome extension or directly through the site with no errors/warnings at all...

Just exported all the data and for me, time to look for alternatives. I really don't like the flippant nature of the dev.
