I am sadden that you are justifying black murderers.

Re:May Bayes Theorem Be with You on Thursday February 12, 2015 @08:46PM (#9042440)
Oh god, all that studying for the actuarial exams is coming back to me like a nightmare.
McDoubles were popular with skinny guys who had a hard time putting on weight. One would stuff their faces with calories and hit the weights in order to do get bigger and it would be very hard if a guy didn't get in enough calories. So that's why a calorie dense item like a McDouble would help. However, that's changed with McDonald's increasing prices such that you aren't getting protein bang for your buck. Now, as one poster had already stated, you get a better deal (monetary and nutritional) with chicken, milk, lentils, beans, whole wheat pasta and eggs.

Can't be worse than working in the Bay Area.
Re:College Students Prefer Reading Print Books to E-Readers on Monday January 19, 2015 @08:58PM (#8915085)
Not what I expected at all. I would guess that college students would prefer taking notes electronically rather than writing with traditional pen and paper.
And those people are called white-guilt liberals.
Re:America's Best Performing Cities in 2014 on Friday January 09, 2015 @06:39PM (#8865183)
No way - I am very surprised to see Lubbock that high. I suppose people are taking a liking to the flat cotton fields and occasional dirt storm? I live here, just uncertain how the city performed that well.

This sucks, I didn't get to download a car.
Re:A Eulogy for RadioShack on Wednesday November 26, 2014 @10:13PM (#8665824)
Oh RadioShack, I hardly knew ye. I do regret getting that crappy Virgin Mobile smartphone, which was the only thing I bought ever from a RadioShack. RIP in pieces.
Re:On the phenomenon of bullshit jobs on Wednesday November 05, 2014 @06:55PM (#8565000)
While we are on the subject of bullshit: https://github.com/bullgit/bullshit-job-titles
Holy hell - I thought this was the same company I applied to a while ago for a position because the location is the same. It turns out it's not and I am glad. $1.21 is just inhumane.
I know in Lubbock something similar was in the news a while. It had more to do with city health code violation than anything else and the matter seemed to die down. It's interesting because a church was doing the feeding and I didn't think the city would do such a thing considering how conservative and religious this city is. I rather see the food being eaten rather than being thrown away. I have nothing against the homeless except for the rare ones who get angry when I say I will buy them food rather than hand money over. There's also Tent City here in the 806 which is a congregation of homeless who sleep in tents and I haven't heard much trouble there. Now the homeless in San Francisco are a different story. I didn't want to believe it since SF is such a lovely city but damn, the homeless there are aggressive as hell. That's just my experience though.
Re:Introducing Carrot on Tuesday October 07, 2014 @11:30AM (#8421709)
Wasn't there something similar that came out in 2012 called Celery? It seems to me Carrot is a little late to the game. Either way, please shut up and take my money.
Re:About coding bootcamp Coding House on Tuesday September 23, 2014 @01:53PM (#8356834)
I agree - I didn't want to believe there would be a bad program out there but Coding House is one. I won't stand by and let Coding House get more money. I wanted to let the coding bootcamp community know as well because of the bad PR towards bootcamps because of Nick and Coding House.
Re:The Law-School Scam on Friday August 15, 2014 @03:38AM (#8181304)
I was reminded of a Simpsons quote: "You let me down, man. Now I don't believe in nothing no more. I'm going to law school".
