Re:Show HN: Built my first iOS app to quit smoking on Sunday April 27, 2025 @04:12PM (#43814731)
Disclaimer: I am the creator of Kwit (https://kwit.app).

I find your app quite tough to understand. If I get it well, your goal is to gradually reduce smoking?

1- get the stock first 2- then only work...

If your former colleague wants you onboard, let him make you co owner first.

Google is just having fun :)
That's a great idea ! Maybe a complement of the more "forum oriented" thread
Thanks for this complete answer, I must say that I agree with your points. Have you some example of well-done forum on mobile apps ?
Re:Ask HN: Why aren't there more startups in the art field? on Wednesday May 13, 2015 @04:28AM (#9537538)
Art : relative to art exhibitions, museums, the way people get access to Art (painting, photo, video, etc... the more traditional art support), buy/consume/share Art, etc...

Re:Story of a Venture-backed startup that failed on Thursday December 11, 2014 @11:55AM (#8735752)
I find surprising that with almost $2Mo they achieve to fail (money doesn't make everything but yet).

After reading the story, I can't really figure out what they did wrong.

Nice project :) (I just lint job spec and the analysis seems right)

Ninja was cool the first time it was used, not it's a stupid word telling : "you won't get paid much but you'll work on a mac book pro"
So there is a big part of luck in the process? Not sure how to find the right people (review website and big techno site are overwhelmed and for what I see, most of the app reviewed are : - crap from startup funded by big VC - a n-th app from Facebook, or Google, or ... - some random unoriginal app

So I'm wondering how to get noticed by the good people ?

Nope, I mean original, polished app but developed outside of the "main" cool-to-be places (NY, SF, Berlin, Paris, ...)

A few years ago, when the AppStores didn't count X,000,000 apps, it was doable to handle the marketing for indie, now I can't figure how.

And all I can see is review of IM apps, tenth version of a lame game, or one more super-cool-but-sucky todolist app.

What do you think about the concept?
