The way this is done in every domain where the real is a bottle neck is with simulation. So the actual argument is: What domains do we think are not practical to simulate even with extreme intelligence making the simulation and the ability to bring immense amounts of computing power to bear while running.
I don't think there are actually that many domains where you can't simulate them with enough knowledge and compute. So then the bottleneck becomes your ability to sample the world and refine your models. For some domains you can have the models run against each other in your sim which greatly reduces the need for real world feedback (see AlphaZero for example).
So in the case of human persuasion, like asking a boss for a raise, the model could of failed many times a second while trying to persuade a simulation of a typical middle manager with the same parameters as your boss.
Yes that is generally what you get down to: you can’t really own land free and clear in a populated area. You depend on the government in many ways to enforce property rights, as well provide services for that property and in return you have to pay for that.
It makes me uncomfortable too actually but I can’t see any alternative that does not get back to a similar spot or violence. In addition if we shifted to a land value tax, it would push taxes onto the very dense developed areas encouraging better use.
Do you have source for that?
Good call! They have info on general population which shows about double the number of horses I originally thought (at least in 2016), and declining at a good clip of 10%+/decade)
. So drop is still large but just a bit smaller.
The general point is before cars horses were used a lot, entire industries were based around them and our now gone. The toy factor does not compensate because of cost and inconvenience of owning a horse.

Do you have a citation for the horse number? My research [0] shows we have a 1/5 out peak number in ~1900 and our population has 5x since then. This means per capita horses in the country is down 96%, while absolute count is down 80%. Both are huge numbers.

Peter F. Hamilton started on the Exodus series and now onto the Reality Dysfunction. He has a talent for taking 5-10 different story threads and weaving them together over a 1000 pages. Also because are so many characters you can actually kill a decent number off.
This missing bit is that many people are pain free with the same scans as you have. Surgery does help people, but it’s clear that the signals we use to say surgery is needed are very noisy and not as accurate as the surgeons would have you think.
Thank you for a README that is readable. It might have a bit of AI help but it’s concise and makes it clear how to use the tool.
They added a recording light and made covering it stop recording or photography. They went through extra effort to at least try and provide a public signal someone is recording.
How much time were you able to put into tuning your prompts? And was it worse on all fronts (cost, latency, accuracy) or just some?
Any details about the harness the agents were given? I am curious what representation of the screen and world state was provided to the agents and what tools they had available.
10s of miles is close enough that they are functionally in the same place in a military context though. The latest cheap massive wave attack drones fly hundreds of miles and hour which puts the DCs less than a minute apart by flight time. This means if you want protection against those risks you have to use multiple regions instead of, or in addition to multiple AZs.
The headline here is off, PS5 Linux relies on bugs for installs, and the project couldn’t keep the last know hypervisor bug secret:
> Slop kiddies found the only hypervisor bug left, which I had also found a while ago, and decided to report to Sony,” the modder said on social media. “I asked them to at least wait for GTA 6 to come out so that people would have the opportunity to legally purchase the game and also enjoy linux. They agreed to wait, but not a day passed and they decided to waste it instead.”
So what has really happened is the LLMs have lowered the participation floor for this space enough the dynamics are changing. The new comers would rather have a few dollars vs. the founders who would rather have a project. It’s likely the projects days were numbered either way because Sony could also just take a frontier LLM and examine any released installer for the project and reverse engineer and bug.
iPhone Duo 2 with working dual FaceID cameras will be a headline feature for sure.
Apple often aggressively cuts scope like this on first generation products and then brings back the features in the future updates. Maybe it’s to provide a reason to upgrade, maybe it’s just good project management but iPhone Duo 2 having “dual FaceID” sounds like something Apple would do.
Look at the low end iPhone’s slowing getting better screens, TouchID, and then FaceID.
They could even be asking chatbots about how to bet.
The higher level models are designed to tackle bigger problems with less oversight and more accuracy. It’s about entirely changing how you use them to mirror an employee you can trust. A truly good team members everyone trusts to just get things done at high quality with minimal direction for days or weeks. That is the goal.
The government should find ways to strategically invest in developing major industries. The market for them is global and China has/will have a bigger internal market than the US, so without intentional development we'll get a continued industrial consolidation that is bad for the US and the world. I have robotic lawn mowers and vacuum cleaners made by Chinese companies partly because an intentional policy from China's government to grow these capabilities locally.
This is what I have done with CLI apps the directly send to the OTEL vendor. It works great.
Do you have some insight into in what areas it’s better and how that is?
Don’t sell it short, it’s big idea is also to support dependency injection style explicit linkage between dynamically added components.
Israel is still declining just more slowly [0]. They do show the general point of this thread: it’s not money that is causing people to have fewer kids. It is the changing social structure and norms, in Israel they appear to tolerate kids everywhere, everyone has lots of kids adding social pressure, family and social support structures are strong making it easier.
In South Korea the reports are they this is very different. Kids are not tolerated in many places, many couples have few kids, society makes it quite hard on moms as well.

About 4.5 years ago they had an internal prototype for changing PRs to be diff based instead of commit based. I even saw some screenshots of it! I assume the change was too drastic, or had too many corner cases so it was dropped. There is a lot of complexity in there system around PR status checks that I could see possibly having issues.
The optimistic person in me thinks now that have a major feature which rebases and amends all the time, they will dust that off and get it shipped. Like you said, is shows a fundamental miss-understanding of the problem.
Can you make sure there is good API support for stacks?
We use a custom merge queue and we want it to be able to land multiple PRs from a stack at once as separate PRs. Last I checked you had to land a single PR, rebase the stack, land the next and so on. This is very expensive in CI time (and wall clock time), vs simply testing part or all of a stack in parallel then declaring those merged. In essence a robot needs the ability to say “squash merge these 3 stacked PRs”, after the queue does its thing.
Some sentences feel pretty AI like:
> These are not catastrophic events. They are the steady state.
> There is no GPU futures market, no standardized residual value curve, and no way to lock in a forward rental rate. The premium is is the price of underwriting in the dark.
The headings are also AI like, a lot of essays before usually did not have titled sections but now they do and they all feel like these.
In addition the diagrams themselves look pretty AI generated.

What's not clearly disclosed is when you are being limited and what the bounds are. If you are developing ML kernels for a computational photography use case will the safe guards miss-fire and sabotage or slow down your efforts? What about distributed GPU interconnect work for a nation super computer lab used in weather simulation?
The reason they are doing this shadow ban style technique, is they don't want users to figure out how to jail break their way out. Or the explicit direct bad PR of when it miss-fires.
Related is Beads [0] which is an external memory and task based issue tracker. Also designed to allow agents to collaborate. I have not actually used Beads but since we are share basics in this space it's a cool one to know if you are looking at ways for agents to collaborate on more complex problems.

Your process loses your unique voice. The content was OK, but too verbose, and needed data on other rust ports of similar scope.
The issue is the quippy titles, “something - aside - continue” phrasing, and other constructions are feel like they or actually are wholly LLM written. I find a high correlation to this and low density fluff. The author did not have 10 paragraphs of things to say, but used an LLM to inflate a short outline to that. We would all of been better off with a tighter document - either human written or better prompted.
