The US Truck buyers likes to hate on the Honda Ridgeline (too car-like), but it is the most American choice: https://www.motor1.com/news/723746/honda-ridgeline-more-amer...

A reason why I browse HN is to learn about adult prodigy projects
Re:Tell HN: I interviewed my dad before he died on Thursday August 04, 2022 @09:56PM (#32350592)
By the time gen-z kids become adults, video will be so common that they will wonder why our generation didn't document family moments more often.

Reading this thread is giving me major trust issues

If you feel bad, make it free
Please don't apologize for thinking this was tonedeaf. It's possibly the most real thing anybody has ever posted on HN. Thanks for sharing.
True story: I spotted Jack Dorsey 2 weeks rocking Balenciaga kicks and streetwear in Soho NYC. My point is fashion is just fashion and what you wear is relative to what you consider to be your "in group".
A version of these will likely come back. Autonomous vehicles tech will enable on-demand, self-driving restaurants that park in front of your door.
Re:Crying in H Mart on Monday August 27, 2018 @12:12PM (#17852316)
Poignant article. I'm glad to find it on HN and happy to see an absence of complaints of being irrelevant to tech.

Isn't this the plot of Mad Men?
Re:Congrats Dropbox on Friday March 23, 2018 @12:54PM (#16660094)

Re:Blood from young animals can revitalise old ones on Thursday July 13, 2017 @08:18AM (#14760635)
Negative comments being quickly bubbled up to the top is an HN thing. Most tech folks I know are the idealist type.
Re:How AWS Cloud is demolishing the cult of youth on Thursday May 25, 2017 @01:35PM (#14418760)
Yes. If AWS hired non-household names over 40 across the board, that would be a different story.
Some of the negative comments here exemplify why the mainstream is starting to hate on the "tech elitist" types in the same way FinanceBros were viewed negatively in the '90s and '00s.
I would add differences in domestic consumers preferences. Americans are now addicted to cheap-quality goods. I passed through the gift shop inside Empire Sate Building in NY yesterday and 98% of the gifts are asian imported plastic trinkets branded with Empire State and USA logos. Contrasts that to when I visited the museums in Berlin where the shops mainly focused on selling locally produced crafts.

My money is on Amazon Home & Business Services. Although essentially they have the same referral network model, people trust AMZN's review platform.
Re:ESPN Can't Afford to Go on Like This on Monday May 01, 2017 @02:29PM (#14240149)
perhaps not most but the hard core fans (AKA die hards) for sure. And Hard core = $$$.
The bright side is now that its on HN, you have a high chance the issue will be resolved for you.
Re:“Side Hustle” as a Sign of the Apocalypse on Sunday January 15, 2017 @09:27AM (#13404093)
My prediction is Uber et al will take notice of this HN thread and address it by coming out with ads on how their drivers are treated well.
Re:Which Universities Have the Best Coders in the World? on Monday January 09, 2017 @10:26AM (#13356957)
Or maybe elite students from other countries don't hold your same US-centric view that a programming education is for the low in status only?
Re:Amazon has made its first drone delivery to an actual customer on Wednesday December 14, 2016 @11:59PM (#13182553)
JD.com (one of the large Amazons of china) has been doing this at a larger scale. http://fortune.com/2016/11/14/jd-china-drone-delivery-single...
