Ask HN: Is anyone worried about the monetary mass?

Since 2008, nearly x3 USD are circulating. Durung last year, we almost doubled the monetary mass. We are still in credit crunch with the fed providing liquidity to banks. The monetary system seems only afloat because the fed is printing. But don't we face a huge collapsing if people stop considering this huge amount of dollars still have the same value than 10 years ago ?

And it will be 300$ if you are a company. If you don't have a company account, you can't really work in team because of how signing apps work.
Any successful projects you can show so everybody knows you are as effective as you want to be ?
Re:At this point, 5G is a bad joke on Thursday September 17, 2020 @11:18PM (#24512627)
There is a 5g specification called 2D2 which is an acrobym for device to device. Could we create a "p2p" network so we don't need to all pay provider to get internet but rather share bandwidth ?
Re:In-App Purchase Rules on Friday September 11, 2020 @09:40PM (#24449139)
That's all right and all fine. It's my user choice to install any crappy third party app store on the hardware I bought. I would like to not being protected. The same on windows, I'm warned than executing an unknown program is a risk for me and if I don't know what I do, then I should not do it. That is perfectly fine. Small fences with warning signs instead of 10 meters walls.
I strangely use storybook with cypress for react native ui testing automation. Also to get multiple screen size on the same screen to check everything is done properly.

I didn't intended to share the repo but as HN is talking about storybook, here it is. Not ready for prod, many todos but the storybook/cypress is demonstrated here.

ok I do understand why I didn t understood
I dont have this reference. Kindness for mean boys would have certainly be less controversial but still off topic. Never said that mentioning women is off limits. I don t get why you ask this as an amswer to my statement. Thanks for the movie reference
I have strictly no idea why OP is using women nor in the title or illustrations
Re:WebTransport API on Sunday June 28, 2020 @12:25AM (#23666731)
finally a specification for datagrams, unordered and unreliable ! This was one of the big struggles of bringing mmo to the browser. DatagramTransport seems really promising as it provides encryption and congestion control which are the most complicated parts of any netcode. Good luck !

WebRTC is known complicated to set up and quite unstable. Many companies have made a business of configuring WebRTC.
Re:Memory in JavaScript – Beyond Leaks (2019) on Monday June 22, 2020 @11:41AM (#23601445)
Gamedev in JS here, findings are very interesting. Memory management is really a pain with JS, the GC is giving me nightmares. Thanks for the article.
I laughed so much at this
Sir, I have to upvote you
Re:Ask HN: Best payout ad network for your product? on Friday January 31, 2020 @10:52AM (#22202626)
Thanks but that is completely out of topic. I'm not speaking about IAP here but about ads. They are not excluding each other.
Re:I collected a list of visa friendly countries in the world on Thursday January 23, 2020 @09:05AM (#22127580)
I was speaking of the site itself, not the hosting. It was slow on my phone. I confess that my phone is low end
Intesreting site, thanks for sharing. If it yours I strongly suggest improving performances on mobile as well as removing the top menu while scrolling if you want to keep the banner ad.
Re:Indiana's Oldest State Worker Is Retiring at 102 on Sunday January 19, 2020 @08:48AM (#22091402)
Studying is not playing casino. Most people don't want to be rich but just enjoy life and having a meaningful activity. You are comparing a non mandatory risky gaming activity with something that we have to do because the society is working like this right now.

If you want to speak about bad choices studies, we need to speak about the society structure to understand that kind of paths.

To understand casino, we just need to learn what is an addiction.

I missed that page. I looked at the front page and answered to the post. Thx for linking the guidelines page
I don't compete with that kind of games but IAP/ads is the business model of 99% of games which makes money, which is obviously a goal. Producing a product of quality is a top priority but it's not enough, you need marketing too in order to have market adoption. There is many games of quality that people don't want to buy. Making a paying game in 2020 on mobile is definitely a wrong strategy choice for most of the games.

Yeah, diluting the product with ads and IAP is a really bullshit way of doing game. I think I just misunderstood the post because none of the answer I got goes in the direction of my post. IAP are fine, ads are fine, subs are fine, DLC are fine. Bullshit pattern aren't.
Well I totally agree with you and that's clearly my aim.
That's pretty clear and I understand this definition. But then, having IAP, ads, DLC, subs does not make a game a bullshit game if it's balanced.
Thanks for your answer. Factually, kickstarter is not a business model, it's a way to get some seed money from future players. Once the game goes out you still need to have a business model.

Making a game can be an artist job but it also can be a business which is expected to grow, fast and strong as any business.

I found the use of the word "greed" extremely opinionated. Is CEO of Amazon greed ? Greed let suppose that it's accumulating money in a selfish way, which seems to be a pretty bad stuff. I might not understand the nuance as I'm not a native english speaker but I find really strange to link the desire of making money with the "greed" word.

You are maybe right, maybe it's only possible to consider video games as a sustainable business with freemium addiction. I really ask the question

Well if mandatory subscription is not bullshit then why not. But i do prefer to offer the game for free so everybody can enjoy it. Mandatory sub is a huge toll in term of marketing. If you are not Blizzard then it's really harder to market fit with less players. Another argument against sub (for me) is that the game will be much more fun with more players.
