If there was anything resembling free market capitalism, phone prices would not be $10/min...
Nothing wrong with what you said, value is subjective after all.
However, couldn't you say this about about a plethora of things?
I got kids/built a commerical building/wrote a book/made a youtube clip/participated in official sport (records lasts forever whohoo!). All of these things will keep existing to some capacity when you die.
Seems pretty trivial for it's own sake.
Wouldn't people just store wealth in things that are out of reach of politicians inflation policies? Bitcoin, gold etc?
Another approach is to lower taxes and create less of an incentive to circumvent them in the first place...
Please elaborate on how you reached this conclusion.
Nice to see MOOCs starting to integrate with the traditional education system. Coursera is great.
Pitching in implies that it is voluntary. Government funding by taxation is not.
Calling something childish is not an argument.
Being underfunded is no excuse, they could be efficient and get the most out of the money they take (by force, don't forget my friend). If they were, then you can argue we should fund them further.
I'm still eagerly awaiting your definition of well-functioning and an explanation for how the "rest of the world" fall under that definition.
> If you assume everyone mismanages funds, you don't give them enough funds to really deliver value on, so they look mismanaged.
What?
>The rest of the world has relatively well functioning governments despite having quite a bit more responsibility.
Define well-functioning. By my definition, they are absolutely not.
Non Stanford students interested, please sign up to the MOOC version.
Sir, please keep logic out of this.
A red future is a dark future.
So let's hope we don't go down that road.
It seems to be going in that direction, but I really hope MOOCs get integrated in traditional formal education. Options for proctored exams that lead to university credit and degrees would be a huge gamechanger.
Exams will be proctored. That costs money. Who picks up the tab when a student fails?
