Re:Thomson Reuters Launches Its Own Frontier Model on Monday August 24, 2026 @11:54PM (#49428883)
Per Business Insider [1], it was built on Qwen.

The search site they point to (https://markready.io/labs) also lists incorrect locations on the map for labs. BUREAU VERITAS CONSUMER PRODUCTS SERVICES, INC. shows on the map in Littleton, Colorado but is actually located in Littleton, Massachusetts.
There's already a spec for this (ISO/IEC 18013-5) and it's been implemented in a variety of jurisdictions. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobile_driver%27s_license

The person gets to see what information the service is asking for and can approve or deny. This'll likely end up being the future of how citizens access government services online.

ISO/IEC 18013-5 (Personal identification — ISO-compliant driving licence — Part 5: Mobile driving licence (mDL) application) is a potential solution for this. https://www.iso.org/obp/ui/en/#iso:std:iso-iec:18013:-5:ed-1...

It would allow someone with an mDL on their device to present only their age instead of other identifying information.

> TXSE’s primary matching engine is located in Equinix NY6 in Secaucus, NJ, with latency equalization across NY4, NY5, and NY6. Customers outside these buildings will experience additional latency. The disaster recovery (DR) matching engine is hosted in Equinix DA11 in Dallas, TX.

> Customers may connect to DR either directly to DA11 or through TXSE infrastructure at 350 E. Cermak in Chicago. Cermak connections will have traffic backhauled to DA11 over redundant TXSE circuits. Backhaul from Cermak to the production data center is not available.

This is mDL (mobile driver's license) here in the US, but it's a new technology and not widely available or adopted yet. https://www.nccoe.nist.gov/projects/digital-identities-mdl
The IRS released guidance back in 2023: https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-drop/n-23-63.pdf

It starts on page 23.

Plenty of analysis online by tax firms but I'll quote from this one: https://insightplus.bakermckenzie.com/bm/attachment_dw.actio...

Re:IRS Direct File on Friday May 30, 2025 @01:14AM (#44133106)
You used Free Fillable Forms, not Direct File. Direct File is a web application piloted in 2024 with a larger release this past year. The URL is https://directfile.irs.gov/

You want companies to store passwords in plain text?
It's not even an act of kindness. It's a prank.
I always recommend https://www.keyvalues.com/culture-queries for ideas on what to ask because you can narrow down the questions to the aspects of the job that are important to you.
Re:I fucking hate Jira on Monday June 20, 2022 @04:45PM (#31815711)
We've automated this in our propriety system. After an amount of time with no activity, change requests expire and someone can resubmit if they're still valid, otherwise they close after a number of days. They also get a notification in advance in case they want to investigate validity before expiration. Has worked well for us since our software is decades old and the number of change requests are substantial.
Re:Contra Wirecutter on the IKEA air purifier on Monday June 20, 2022 @01:05PM (#31812732)
On the first point in the article, there is a definition for HEPA which for ISO is 99.95% efficiency. The Ikea purifier doesn't meet this. It meets the EPA standard, hence the designation of E12 (99.5%).

Coinbase has over 5000 employees. They hired 1200 employees in the first three months of this year. That's about the number they had in total just 2 years ago.
