I've used JFrog Artifactory before and I wish I didn't.
SSDs can be resoldered, but it's a PITA and I haven't seen it becoming popular or inexpensive.

Hi HN! I built this very simple logger function that is POSIX-compliant, so it's very portable.I did it because I wanted to learn a little bit more about POSIX-compliant shell scripts and how I could test if my script is POSIX-compliant.
I'm using shellspec with Docker and Vagrant to test this logger function in different OSes, with different shells. This is one of my first open-source projects,...
I feel like at this point we should just abandon GitHub Actions altogether.
Hey man, that's not fair. They cannot enshittify what has always been shit to begin with.
Thanks stranger, for speaking up for all of us that hate voice control. Sometimes I just want quiet.
This is why we can't have nice things...
Yes, for the love of god and all that is holy, just let me use TOTP for MFA. I absolutely HATE that some banks use SMS as a method of MFA. Sometimes it's a mix of 8 character numeric password with SMS as MFA.
I've been saying for years, GitHub Actions is alpha software.
Can you guys shut up about Trump just for a second? This is not about the United States.
I sincerely don't understand how devs that use macOS put up with this crap. I remember getting a Macbook M1 from the company I used to work for and the battery life was amazing, but as soon as I needed to install Xcode I just gave up. It's unbelievably bad, fuck that.
Dependency management and imports (without a proper namespace solution) make me angry beyond reason. I love and hate Python.
Seriously, this is getting out of hand in the cybersecurity space. SAST, DAST, SBOM, WAF, SOAR, TPRM, NGFW, MSSP...
Exactly. I mean, I understand that 45+ minutes to deploy something that takes less than a minute to build is obnoxious, but the pipeline is not always there to only build the app. Deploying in 10 seconds means no safeguards and that you can send broken code to production. And pipelines are about automation too. Having a sane pipeline that will check formatting, linting, test, build and deploy quickly to a server is not that hard.
Well, if you don't care for production being down for a couple of minutes, fine, do the "10 second deployment". But, at least for me, even in really small projects, it doesn't make any sense.
Oh my sweet summer child...
This or the manager wants it perfect but complains when it takes longer
Can this be used for something like Steam Deck? It would be nice for when you are running a game and needs to stop but will resume gameplay later.
Nice post but WHY THE FSCKING WHITE BACKGROUND
Thanks for the detailed response :)
Sounds like I'm gonna be experimenting with Nim in the next few days. Creating CLI executables with Python is always a pain, you cannot propely create a self-contained executable without going through hoops.
How's Nim in production? I really enjoyed working with the language and I've been bitten too many times by Python's package management. Do you think it's suitable for scripting too?
You're welcome :)
I would totally watch it if they created an animated series out of it.
Podman Desktop is getting really good. But the only thing preventing me from using Podman right now is the fact that Docker has BuildKit, and BuildKit has some really nice features like Secret Mounts, Cache Mounts and SSH Mounts.
