You gotta love the designers, Windows Deadlocked
The designers clearly think that this meeting is deadlocked. Just follow the link and imagine one of the gears trying to turn, deadlocked by its companions. I remember Windows magazine made the same mistake when NT came out, on the cover: http://img.en25.com/eloquaimages/clients/PentonMediaInc/%7Bc100e06b-1074-4cb6-ad7f-49f1bee91792%7D_promo_con_ftr_gears_625x322.gif

Re:Just How Risky Is Entrepreneurship, Really?
on Monday January 30, 2012 @09:53AM (#3528981)
If entrepreneurship is such a force for good in our society, why doesn't the government promote the small business interests more? What I am speaking of is the truly overwhelming amount of paperwork and taxes that must be satisfied from day 1. Just to beat a dead horse, the requirement for the 1090 forms for all, including corporate payees, would have absolutely choked most small businesses. And woe be unto those who through ignorance or arrogance didn't file. My plea is to all readers, think before you vote this year. See who is really promoting a better environment for small business, and vote for them. Let us reduce the risk for entrepreneurs and build a better society!

My daughter is now looking at colleges. These courses both from MIT and Stanford give me, the one who will be paying, a sense of what my 70K per year will be buying. I think this is great marketing for less cost than those mass mailings all the schools seem to be cramming into our mailbox. I just wish all these tier 1 schools would offer something online, it would make judging the quality of what I will soon be buying a lot easier.

Re:It takes three years to build a business
on Friday October 14, 2011 @07:37AM (#3110797)
I just have a small quibble about the statement "3 years to be exact". Having built several companies over the years, no time line is exact. That doesn't mean it's not a good estimate, just that the cliche may be taken literally.
However, how does this fit into the "fail often, fail quickly" advice I have seen so often in this forum? Does quickly mean 3 years? Just a thought...
