In what way are human-made memorials "utopian"? Maybe I am too strict with language
Re:RIP Eric Binnion on Wednesday October 14, 2026 @09:54AM (#50087843)
I doubt the dead care. Also why is everything bad "dystopian" nowadays?
Re:Generative "AI": The Guitar Hero of Creativity on Friday August 07, 2026 @08:29AM (#49209390)
This seems disingenuous. I can ask a generative AI "explain this ternary operator to me" or "walk me through why this causes a race condition"

I cannot ask the video game why my real guitar is out of tune, or diagnose why I'm holding the fret wrong.

Re:The "Disability Dongle": Why Silicon Valley Hates Me and You on Wednesday August 05, 2026 @01:13PM (#49185824)
The author seems to be screaming into the void here. The task of rebuilding infrastructure is mountainous compared to attempting new technological solutions.

I do agree with his rant about clean and semantic HTML being nessecary for accessibility. It's too often overlooked (as I scramble to check my sites for alt-text on images)

I also did not understand the "fear of breaking something" bullet point. Why would that stop you from reviewing AI code?
Re:It's Only When You Look Back on Thursday June 25, 2026 @08:16AM (#48672260)
I enjoyed this post, echelon. It's trendy to be negative on social media such as HN and I greatly appreciate your optimism. Some of the items you mentioned are already happening to various degrees of success.
Re:What are peoples' biggest issues with Crypto? on Wednesday June 24, 2026 @02:27PM (#48663858)
That no one seems to care about the underlying cryptography (except the nerds still communicating via op_return). I hope it falls out of fashion completely and returns to its cipherpunk roots.
Re:The AI Hate Progression on Thursday June 18, 2026 @03:09PM (#48590027)
Just a reminder that only the west hates AI. China has 87% of the populace viewing AI favorably.

Re:No, everyone is not using AI for everything on Tuesday June 16, 2026 @08:48AM (#48554398)
"Enshitification" comes for us all, HN comments included.
I wish the article explained why a software issue would cause a physical recall. Can they not update themselves?
Re:Grok 4.3 on Friday May 01, 2026 @02:43PM (#47978438)
Do you say this on every Grok/Tesla/SpaceX post or has something here prompted you differently?

Beautiful, William Gibson would be proud.
Are you a Magic: the Gathering fan?

Fixed, thank you

Relevant section:

"Today, 75% of all new code at Google is now AI-generated and approved by engineers, up from 50% last fall."
