I relate to sfn42. That *is* the stack overflow experience. That is the average programming forum experience when you frequent it for more than just to get your problems solved.

During the last decade that I've been asking/answering questions I only ever had 1 question locked as offtopic, and it was when they introduced question types. The several questions which I did report as invalid/offtopic/etc. were just error messages thrown by compiler without any substance of what you are supposed to look at to even determine how to help the author.
I'm genuinely confused whether people just parroted the memes or actually had their questions closed.

I wouldn't touch EspressoBin products with a mile long pole if I could. The board is a mess and as undocumented as it can get to the point where even labels on the board don't match what the uboot images is flashed to it. Even when using their suggested images for ubuntu, the board is unstable and cannot run without kernel panicking every 15-30 minutes.
Flashing new uboot image is a mess too. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't. Why? Who knows. Since boards are often mislabeled, flashing most of the time does brick the board making it useless paperweight that eats 12V5A power supply.
All in all, stay away from it if you can. There are much better SBCs on the market.
