Re:LimonOS Custom x86-64 Kernel on Saturday October 31, 2026 @04:24PM (#50319773)
Planned for LimonOS: adding Python as a language inside the system (so you can write and run your own programs), FTP (already there) and SSH, a better browser (Citrus), a better kernel, writing my own programs inside it, and eventually running a Python server so other machines can connect to LimonOS.

Honest note: this depends on the loader → syscalls → mini-libc → Python subset → listening TCP chain. FTP works now; SSH, images/CSS in Citrus, and the Python HTTP server are in progress, not done yet.

LimonOS new OS no Unix no Linux

Wrote everything myself from scratch in pure C without any Linux or pre-built distros. It's a custom monolithic architecture with the Limine bootloader, custom drivers, window manager, and terminal. As for models and agents: I used LLM agents as co-authors for routine tasks, writing tests, and debugging low-level code. I tuned them to strictly generate code without the standard library (libc)...

I'm creating my own OS system. Please rate this. There's a lot written in C

I'm creating my own OS system. Check it out. A lot has been written in C. So, I created my own OS called LimonOS. It's in early development. What's unique is that it's not Linux or Unix—the kernel is unique and 98% written in C. Yes, I used the AI assistant because I had a headache and there were a lot of errors and problems, since I was the only one doing and thinking about it. Development...
