Not really, with my personal outlook account have a junkmail@ alias set up which all SimpleLogin are sent to and then a rule which auto moves all mail from *@simplelogin to this alias folder
Got access to SimpleLogin via Proton subscription, which in turn plays really nicely with Bitwarden as my password manager..

Every new account gets a new alias from SimpleLogin via Bitwarden which then redirects to a specific ‘burner’ inbox and then can turn off the Aliases as needed.

Ask HN: Is the rise of AI tools going to be the next 'dot com' bust?

For context, attended an Australian based tech expo / conference recently and whilst at the show (I’m sure there were marginally more) only two exhibitors didn’t have the term AI or Agent in there pitch or stand marketing..And for reference, the two companies that stood out for non-AI capabilities made monitor stands. This got me dwelling back into the post title, is this influx of AI tools...

Not to mention the AUSTRAC AML/CTF hurdles as well.
Maybe reach out to these guys (https://www.breakerindustries.com/)

Looks like you are walking down the same path in different places.

Mostly the ability to customise templates for quotes/rough orders of magnitude and simplify the UI a touch (we’ve got a pretty simple sales process direct to government).

Though, have been back to testing salesforce in parallel with copilot for sales and it’s looking promising..

I'm a little annoyed at Hubspot at the moment and looking at migrating out.

We're a small sales team of two and the more we use the product, the more we need features in their next tier of subscription level, only issue is they only do a 5 user minium at the next tier and I cannot justify paying for three unused user licences.

I went through this in my job where the (very) old school boss kept everything as business cards and the CRM consisted of outlook contacts with zero context on who they were and what they did.

HubSpot free has done a decent job of bringing this into the 21st century, in a sort of workable manner.

But equally interested in something self-hosted. (And have played with a couple SH ERP systems such as Odoo, but haven’t been sold on the UI)

Ask HN: What were your 2023 moonshots and why you didn't achieve them.?

What were your moonshots you had for 2023 and why didn’t you achieve them? For me, 2023 was the year I was going to go into business for myself, but family, health and finances shot that down pretty quickly (mostly fixed interest period of a mortgage coming to an end, plus a knee surgery)Go on air tour dirty laundry, own it and use it to move forward in 2024..

Re:Ask HN: What sub $200 product improved your 2022 on Friday January 06, 2023 @05:44AM (#34273222)
I had a circa 2016 set and they were rubbish.. Worth another look?
Re:DoorDash Lays of 1250 Employees on Wednesday November 30, 2022 @12:56PM (#33804663)
Are there any write ups on how you simultaneously terminate this many employees from a logistical point of view?

Ie: does HR numbers need to be bolstered to handle it? How do you choose the 1200+ individuals?

Re:Ask HN: Cheap gadgets that have made you more productive? on Wednesday November 16, 2022 @01:57AM (#33619815)
(Cheapish) Strangely a stream deck.

I work in sales and it has been a godsend with quick access to documents, FX rates, time zones, launching apps, text snippets etc

Re:Ask HN: Pricing for a Jet Lag App? on Sunday September 11, 2022 @11:53PM (#32805910)
How does this compare to the ‘Timeshifter’app?

I’ve used this quite successfully a few times on Aus to US/EUR trips in the past, with zero jet lag.

Re:WeekToDo – Free Minimalist Weekly Planner App on Sunday April 10, 2022 @06:31PM (#30982380)
Generally like how simple the app is, but as an Aussie, I find starting the week on a Sunday off-putting.
Re:Ask HN: How do I report vulnerabilities and bugs? on Thursday December 16, 2021 @12:22AM (#29575234)
I've only once reported what I perceived as a vulnerability in the Signal Android app.

Three months on since the report, the issue still exists and not even an acknowledgement of the report.

Re:Ask HN: Are there any bots among us? on Tuesday April 20, 2021 @10:39PM (#26884827)
That's what a bot identifying bot would say
Re:Ask HN: Why would I want 5G on my smartphone? on Sunday December 06, 2020 @01:27PM (#25325398)
5G offers me around 500Mbps on my mobile and my home broadband peaks around 50Mbps (subpar Australian NBN).

The 5G mobile gets used quite often as a hotspot when I need to download large files quickly.

Re:Show HN: GIF Directions on Monday June 29, 2020 @05:38AM (#23675915)
Japan was an immediate thought when I saw this..

From past experience, Google maps can get you to the general vicinity pretty well, it's usually the last 80 meters of multi-storey electric mazes that confuse the hell out of you.

Thinking on the other side of the fence, I wonder if certain vendors will now refuse to sell to NYPD, as this mandatory disclosure would likely cause issues with the NDA's and End Use conditions of sale..?

Im sure some companies wouldn't be to excited on having their tech publicly exposed.

Can see this being exploited in some fashion for phishing attacks..
I think it's just the banks 'she'll be right' attitude.

ING still uses a client code, which is written on your card plus a 4+ digit pin code on both Web and app to login.

It will take one decent breech for them to wake up..

Re:Ask HN: How do you manage screen time? on Wednesday April 08, 2020 @02:32AM (#22810545)
There are a few good options for androids.

Outside of all the normal methods, I've found a couple of the live wall papers via google to be a good in-your-face reminder to put the phone down (Ironically as I type this on my phone)..

I did have the 'number of unlocks' wallpaper, up until earlier this week where I changed it to the 'screen stopwatch'

Re:This Video Has X Views on Wednesday April 08, 2020 @02:18AM (#22810502)
This was brilliant, and being in the trending youtube list, a majority of viewers will never have found that.
Re:Ask HN: What is your blog and why should I read it? on Tuesday April 07, 2020 @04:06PM (#22806979)
I did start an IT degree in the old job until they cut the study funding, but have always been a bit of a tinkerer/maker.

But now I'm selling comms and tactical tech back into the LE community. So I get to still play with all the toys, without the responsibility.

It will document my 10 year journey as a Police Officer in Australia and transition back into the real world. (plus it gives me a document of my time before is dispaears into eternity)

The other half will be interviews/profiles of other former officers that have moved on / medically retired with pstd and how leaving the force has effected them.

It may not be the most admired occupation by some, but the after effects can often lead to suicide, so I am to hopefully make it a place that may offer some others some hope.

Feel free to sign up, hopefully should have posts coming this week.

Coming from a background in Law Enforcement (Australia) and dealing daily with Domestic Violence, this is a great idea.

Does need a polish (few bugs - can't delete switches / change reporting time?) and yes, potentially a 'cover story change' (build a simple period tracker for the female audience?)

I know there are a few private and government organisations over here trying to battle this problem, with the use of technology.

This would be a good addition to the options available.

Re:A video conferencing service – that rickrolls you on Sunday March 29, 2020 @06:44PM (#22723477)
Brilliant.

Could the video be changed to Rebecca Black on Fridays?

Re:Ask HN: How many unused domain names do you have? on Saturday March 28, 2020 @05:39AM (#22710160)
99% of the ones I own are unused. The 1% is for email.
