"Decentralization" doesn't look decentralized

Billions in assets frozen within minutes, or at most a few hours. So, what’s the difference between having a bank account where your funds can be frozen and holding blockchain tokens that can be frozen as well? There are a few important conclusions:1. Decentralization doesn’t mean ownership.2. Decentralization of computational resources doesn’t mean decentralization of the assets you own.3....

Re:Why I don't see many advantages in decentralized platforms on Tuesday November 04, 2025 @09:20AM (#45811336)
I completely agree with you, and recently noticed that the decentralization narrative is often confused with privacy, but they’re different concepts that serve different purposes.

Why I don't see many advantages in decentralized platforms

Honestly, from my point of view, I don’t see many advantages in decentralized platforms, where my personal data is distributed across nodes worldwide in public. In this post, I would like to note some key points about the current landscape and problems in the on-chain world that you should know. For example, let's take a look at the Bitcoin blockchain:1) Block size limitations: The Bitcoin...

Re:Show HN: Hashmate update is rolled out on Saturday October 25, 2025 @12:47AM (#45701425)
Hi, mate! Currently, all the platforms I know lack many of the real features we need — they’re just too trivial and, honestly, sometimes poorly implemented. So I’m building a fully real-time P2P platform with the most useful features at its core. The platform will include some commercial options to let users earn money. Everything is built with security and privacy in mind to keep people safe from every angle. Thanks for your feedback!
Re:Show HN: A new platform for devs, hackers, and crypto folks on Wednesday October 08, 2025 @06:30PM (#45521342)
Hi HN,

I built hashmate.app as a new platform for devs, hackers, and crypto folks. The goal was to focus on the features that actually matter — less noise, less nonsense.

It’s still in progress, and I’d love your feedback on what features are most useful, anything confusing or frustrating in the UI/UX, and ideas for improvement.

The platform currently includes a snippet feature that lets you save and share code quickly. I’m planning more features based on feedback from early users.

All constructive criticism is welcome — I want to make this genuinely useful for the community.

Thanks!
