Does this also apply to my small UPS here in my office?

I just checked the power meter dashboard of the building and can see small peaks in the minute range.

In this case it's not counting in too much on the grid level as there's a periodically charged batterie in between.

Are we talking soccer? I can't even imagine the british drinking tea while watching :)

Re:AI promised less work. I've never worked more on Tuesday October 27, 2026 @09:25AM (#50258897)
I'm running a small software company together with a partner. We've moved from partly working with externals to 100% working with onpremise AI.

Both of us feel the AI fatigue from time to time.

My personal analysis is that the speed went up, with this the bandwith of different topics. Other factors that weigh in are a not lowering learning curve inside the heavily iterating AI sector and the chattiness of the Agents. If not stopped they produce so much facts that it kills me. I started constantly working on this to stop the waterfall of facts and get ontop of it.

Still not succeeded :)

Re:Quad9 (DNS Resolver) to Exit France on Friday October 23, 2026 @09:12AM (#50208462)
Isn't this a case for the ISPs? Shouldn't they either block access to Quad9 or the servers in question? And what about 8.8.8.8 and others?

I'm confused

In my MacStudios, I trust.

seriously: there's a multitude of reasons not to get hooked on Frontier Labs.

Unclear cost. Will they use your data against you? will their models work consistently over time? Will they be there at all? Their datacenters harm everyone living arround them. Their 'controversial' owners and bosses.

Re:De-Brainrot Vacations on Monday September 07, 2026 @09:56AM (#49598521)
i've spent this summer vacation in portugal with no news websites & no socials.

As I never plan to read but know on some point i will want to read - I took the e-reader.

I ended up reading two books.

The result: I feel much more balanced and my opinion on topics and discussion habits calmed down a lot.

I hope I can keep the detox of those every more present redical views up for longer, it is really relaxing.

Oh come on. So you should be fine with this because "hey we're the friendly europeans..."?
I had the same learnings with cognito when using it for a product we built.

We mainly choose it because AWS was used anyway and the security aspect seemed to be solved entierly with this coice (if aws get's hacked ... ).

We regretted it out of similar reasons.
