Overall, I loved the "Wealth" essay. I do wonder though if Paul ever considers that the same thing he says about Bill Gates' success could also be said about his own.

"Bill Gates is a smart, determined, and hardworking man, but you need more than that to make as much money as he has. You also need to be very lucky."

Or perhaps PG thinks his personal success is based purely off his own brilliance with no helpful outside factors needed (i.e. competitor blunders, etc)? :)

Hah! Actually DID do that. Unfortunately, when I copied the title from the header and put it into the text box, I left out the "s".

Oh the irony!

Re:Move Over Apple, My Tablet Cost $200 on Wednesday March 09, 2011 @11:31PM (#2308052)
Between requiring developers to pay to write apps (have to enter their personal or enterprise program) and now charging for the IDE, Apple is almost taking a hostile stance against developers, whereas Google is embracing them.

I wonder what the reasoning behind this move is.

Since software entrepreneurial types are often drawn to Hacker News, I thought some of you might find this interesting. The Likes of Carmack, Paul Bucheit (gmail guy), and Spolsky all have some interesting takes on the stuff espoused by many thought leaders.
