Reviewing content, classifying data, making decisions.

That may be true, but in the history of NATO how many countries have invoked Article 5, and which countries answered that call?
Why do you assume that retirement = life over? If anything, now he has the opportunity to enjoy life on his terms.

How would the base model know bespoke organizational policy, process and nuances without some way of briefing it?
If you did this to me, fine.

If you had done this to a recruiter that funnels screened people to me, I'd make sure to not interview you. It shows total lack of awareness of how to deal with non-tech people, verging on arrogance.

When I need other people to continue editing it.

I also prefer LaTeX, I've written hundreds of letters, multiple papers, a few thesis and my CV (maintained for the last ~20 years). But the defacto for business documents sadly isn't LaTeX.

The biggest blocker for me is having confidence my output renders the same with people using MS Office, pdf output isn't always sufficient.

Most of them are not public, but a fun thing I did was a mario cli game - https://github.com/Daviey/mario/ (or `ssh mario.baby`).

I now exclusively use https://omp.sh/ as my harness:

I set it up so it never works in the main branch so subagents etc don't step on each others toes, and only merges back when complete: https://github.com/Daviey/mario/blob/main/.omp/hooks/pre/wor...

A good AGENTS.md is essential: https://github.com/Daviey/mario/blob/main/AGENTS.md

I then provide specifications for what I want, making sure it is unit tested.

I have 3-5 agent harnesses with large context windows working on different applications concurrently.

I paid $360 annual for Max plan and currently averaging about 1BN tokens a day with their frontier GLM-5.3 model. This was clearly unsustainable for them and they've dropped this package.
Most companies I think now make you accountable for the card, and unless you provide a receipt showing it is a company expense then you are accountable.

There's also placebo buttons in many offices for aircon/heating.

Delays yes... But once an airline cancels the flight, they become liable.
Re:100s of flights cancelled at UK airports due to ATC issue on Tuesday September 08, 2026 @04:26PM (#49616544)
Because nobody in this situation is accountable. I agree the airline may not be to blame for the cause, but SOMEONE is... but NATS do not carry the same responsibility.

It blows my mind that consumers have lots of protection from the airline, but we have no protection from ATC failures.

As it happens, flight just got cancelled.. so airline is responsible for hotel and rebook. Which is also unfair on them.

My wife is currently at Gatwick, supposed to have taken off 2 hours ago, but no update.... The frustrating thing is the complete lack of information. I cannot comprehend how nobody knows what the situation is. I mean, is aircraft on the tarmac yet? Has it left it's previous destination yet? etc.

Worst part is, likely no compensation as it isn't the airlines "fault".

Re:Don't Use a gmail.com Address on Sunday September 06, 2026 @04:42PM (#49590716)
I had websites state that the address was invalid because I didn't have an MX record, despite it not being an RFC requirment.

Also, a lifetime ago, had Hurricane Electric (https://he.net) refuse to accept a sign-up because... I only had one MX record. I added an additional record pointing the same IP, but they weren't happy.. So I allocated an additional ipv4 address to the same server, just to satisfy them.

It's a losing battle.

Having made`ssh mario.baby` and https://mario.baby (visa was) from the same code.. I'd choose https any day.
Author here. Fastest way in is `ssh mario.baby`, no account needed or install etc.

Browser build at https://mario.baby (using WASM)

A new level daily, with the date as a seed.

Feedback issues and patches welcome, https://github.com/Daviey/mario

They all look like lovely "cottages".
It was surprisingly easy for me to be approved in their CVP programme as an independent security researcher, that said, abliterated Qwen3.8-27B model feels better and cheaper.

Real devs use `ed`.
As a former Canonical employee, where I was the leader and engineering owner of Cloud and Server products, you are pretty off the mark here.

In my >25 year career, my team were the best engineers I have worked with and I'd work again with any of them in a heart-beat. Most of them have moved on to other impactful roles at other organisations and delivering amazing things.

None of them were "sysadmin" people.

I'm quite impressed with the Hungarian system, for 18-19 year old school leavers, where every subject is split 50/50 between:

  - Írásbeli (written) - standardised written exam, centrally set and marked
  - Szóbeli (oral) - the panel interview
The oral (szóbeli) has:

  - A committee of 2-3 teachers sits as a panel
  - The student draws a topic at random from a list
  - They get prep time (usually 15-20 mins)
  - They present their answer to the panel
  - The panel asks follow-up questions and probes understanding

They drive the TUI from the same thread that actual does stuff.. causing frequent freezes.

No GUI developer would ever put this on the same thread.
