Re:101 Reasons Why Fossil Is Better Than Git on Sunday November 01, 2026 @09:02AM (#50325790)
I've been using Fossil(and Git) since about the same time(late 2000s), so I don't harp on the idea of Fossil as an alternative. I can even see Git as an alternative to Fossil. The document was new to me though. As I admittedly age through the end of my corporate life, a significant reason for me to keep considering Fossil is the size of the team I expect to work with. More and more, my desire is to work on smaller projects and more of my own startup endeavors. Thankfully, I'm not terribly sensitive to Git compatibility. Many do not have this flexibility for considerations.

A decade of SQLite use has also made me comfortable with the underpinnings along with a preference for the batteries-included functionality(.e.g wiki, issues, and notes). I'm also not beholden that something better might come along, say Jujutsu and even more so when it has its own native backend.

Sounds like an opportunity for a startup!
Re:Is It EDT or EST? on Sunday November 01, 2026 @08:48AM (#50325666)
Do you mean ET? Most areas but not all within ET do follow daylight savings. How do you accommodate for the areas within ET(ETZ) zone that do switch between UTC -4 and -5 or EST and EDT) and those that don't?

As a sibling comment mentioned, when available or used(big ifs) calendar software often takes care of this.

First merge of this document was 2026-07-28 (new to me, at least, and maybe others).
That and there is an idea that the strength of pardons will be tested by the House Oversight Committee(assuming take back by Democrats).

Nice! Think there was a gap in release-accompanying songs from 7.4 to 7.8 or I missed them. Seems they are back on track now.

Not a stretch to umbrella intentional tort under that.

I assumed similarly. Leaves me with a sour note every time I drop in here now.
