I ran into Double NAT issue with Teamviewer once. Oh boy! that was so hard to figure out.
Everyone knows it, no matter how gifted you are chances of your discovering something important is same as any random guy discovering something equally important, i.e., mostly random.

You limit access to the data, you limit ability of others to make an important discovery. Status quo won't offer free access to this data because it apparently reduces their importance.

Most aren't in position of sending threats in the way of their executives.
I've hired plenty of technically rockstar employees for cash strapped startups.

Those who get kick out of these technical challenges are willing to do it for nearly free - we only gotta make sure, their other needs are taken care of.

Their IPO will suck because every wannabe big company must have lots of employees to raise more money.

How about using Discourse? I think it scales well. Would love to hear your experience with this.

Firefox has fixed all issues for me. I am about to dump Chrome, just give me fast startup time.

You can set one of them as fallback and it will remember, each time you plug the device. See: https://i.imgur.com/iazUIo8.png

Same issue here! Luckily, all our API clients include a fallback domain.
Well, if you are required to prepare your own tax returns through an accountant then he will most certainly, itemize deduction, you'll be asking him to get your tax bill down a bit. Power of incentive is nothing to be questioned.
In most countries, private health insurance is tax deductible.

Brave on Android Firefox on Desktop (switched from Chrome), new FF is as fast as chrome, plus I love the compact view of FF.
Yes, they can certainly help in cases where you are offering your images to others.

Assuming, initial size is zero. If you install 100MB of packages in layer 1.

Then in second layer, you uninstall of those packages. Your image size will still be 100MB.

If you are optimizing for high density, a smaller size certainly helps.

Font size at 23px. Seriously?

Just skimmed and now my eyes are hurt.

Computation cost of calculating the Cholesky factorization of the original second derivative matrix is comparable to cost of calculating the inverse factorization.

I've not read it! But experienced folks will be hired more often than inexperienced ones. And lots of old programmer use vim/emacs and other CLI editors. So, it's not surprisingly. Do they've data adjusted for programming experience?
It just saves top 5-6MB over Debian slim version of images. It's not worth my time to use this instead of officially debian supplied images.

Edit: I would like to know where exactly this 5-6MB is saved.

I am thinking more along the line of Hedge Funds and angle investing in startups than lottery which is not an investment!
Investing in index is like subscribing for slavery. It only benefits people with tons of money. Sure, it's less risky. But along with preventing massive downside, it prevents massive upside too. I've just got 1 life, limited time and I want to risk everything for a massive upside, not efficient market.

It's funny to see that they are not even able to implement an Ebook reader mode. Crowd sourced data to selectively enable/disable JavaScript for invasive/resource hungry websites will save a lot of battery too!
This is exactly, why I use functional programming language and prefer Pespsi even tho it tastes bit worse.

The facadian distance between Pespsi and Cocola water molecules is about 10nm which makes Pepsi efficient in terms of water requirements.

If only Coke fans got that right, maybe one day...

Re:Rob Pike's Rules of Programming (1989) on Saturday September 16, 2017 @09:10PM (#15267702)
As a functional programmer, these rules sound like a joke to me. I'll only partially agree with the last one.

Re:Don't Make Everyone Do Customer Service (2015) on Saturday September 16, 2017 @09:00PM (#15267667)
Customer service is a very unrewarding job. First, you've to deal with angry customers then you've to explain yourself and get your answers from the developers who again shout at you or call you out on your mistakes.

Developers always consider customer service below them. Working as a customer service rep for even an hour a month will at least make them respect customer service team a bit.

Re:The Realities of Being a FOSS Maintainer on Saturday September 16, 2017 @06:56PM (#15267205)
1. Dealing with paying customers is actually worse than this. Unless, of course, you have an army of lawyers.

2. You initially sold people on this project. That's what got your project enough eyeballs in the first place for you to even consider making it a business.

3. Of course, your acquaintance will not complain - that's precisely the reason they are still with you. As you got upset when people told you of your unfairness. It's such a pity that these days people don't even have friends who can tell them the truth to their face.

4. OSS as requires a certain spirit. The OSS project is being sold on a set of ideas which is exactly opposite of the commercial world - that's why they use and contribute to your product.

5. Maybe you are too poor to be an open source contributor, I suggest getting a job and not expecting to make money by flipping the board. That will get you more fame and respect.

That said, now playing victim will not help you.
