I've become conditioned to react to Firefox version announcements with 'I wonder how Mozilla has screwed up the browser this time'. Either by introducing useless features or by removing options I considered useful. I hope I'm wrong this time.
I have no idea about the legal situation of distributing ROMs and an emulator for Atari 2600.
Why do I have to opt-out of this? This should be opt-in.
I would financially support a fork of Firefox with all the garbage removed. The home page bullshit, Pocket, all the automatic requests made without user action, and more that I probably don't know of.
That's not what the link says.
"The natural language which has been effectively used for thinking about computation, for thousands of years, is mathematics."
I'm not sure if this is true. Harold Abelson creates the distinction[1] between Mathematics being the study of truth and Computing being the study of process. It seems to me that these really are different things and Mathematics isn't the "natural language" to discuss computations, but rather truth and patterns. But of course process (computing) can only happen within the boundaries of mathematical truths and patterns.

If it is my computer, I'd like the right to not update it and keep using it just the way it currently is.
I don't think the proposed solution is reasonable because it violates a lot of assumptions about the things I own and use.

It says "Tape her and rape her". If this isn't encouraging rape, I don't know what would be then.
Just because people are laughing doesn't mean it isn't encouraging horrible behavior by making certain actions seem less disgusting.
With a collective market share of 1%, I find it hard to believe that the reason Linux distributions use incompatible package names is to get revenue from usage statistics.
Maybe we should use Hanlon's razor here:
"Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity."
It's probably the reverse of this same logic: "Why do not they just copy and paste the link wherever they want to share it?"
Dropbox had a good idea, big companies cloned them, and they're still around.
Exactly. When The Pirate Bay has an infinite catalog, they can't afford to be picky.
>so it’s possible to build a complete firmware from source with no opaque blobs
So this means that this will probably appeal to the free software people that only use 100% free computers?
Any cached version available?

I visited the site using Firefox Nightly and it said: "Powderkeg can't run on your browser. Would you mind coming back with either Google Chrome or Firefox?".
