Where do (did) you work?
Thank you. It's absurd that we are comparing breaking into MIT and (physically) breaking into a network with scraping the web and scanning physical books.
Yes, 100%. It's the same reason that my kids are able to tan through the same sunscreen application regimen that leaves me pale.

Source: My Mohs surgeon. And 3 skin cancer surgeries (so far).

Looking at you, Nintendo Switch 1 and 2. Yes, the 2, in 2026.

When given the option (like this case), I recommend Login.gov over ID.me.
> Blockchain and NFTs were a useless sideshow. Their investors and hodlers were trying to force them into places they weren’t useful

Not unlike trying to cajole a probabilistic text generator into writing code that isn't atrocious. And failing.

I have difficulty believing a medical professional would say that.

I wouldn't spend too much of your time deep diving - it's an AI slop project.

Many radios don't have "a phone".
Same. This app was specifically used to incite violence against law enforcement.

Doesn't seem like it. From the Economist's front page as I type this:

12 hours later, this has not aged well.

You don't state what country you're in, but in the US, the pandemic is effectively over. Everyone (that wants to be) is well-vaccinated, many 3 or 4x, Omicron blew through the country and left us mostly unscathed, and the news hasn't talked about daily numbers in at least two months. There is little reason to wear a mask indoors unless you want to lessen your chances of catching the flu - which is ticking up a bit.

We probably don't meet the scientific/medical definition of the end of a pandemic, but socially, we're there.

However, if you're in the US and still feeling this way, you may be suffering from some low-grade PTSD. Don't be afraid to reach out for help.

None of this matches my experience serving, but it turns out this person didn't serve at all and is just trolling. Sad, man.
Flagged. From the article:

> The video is produced by Uniting Missouri, a political action committee created by Parson supporters to back his 2020 election campaign. [...] It operates without direct input from Parson on its activities.

How is this in any way false? I just updated to the latest stable release and it turned telemetry back on, despite my old settings being off. Same as the original screenshot.

I don't see requiring an ID to vote as a very big hurdle. I needed to provide a lot more than that to get my COVID vaccine.

> Parler was a hate site, filled with conspiracy theories, radicalization and racism

Citation needed. Neither I nor my friends or acquaintances used it for any of these things. Hell, I've hired people off of Parler.

Re:Parler drops offline after Amazon pulls support on Monday January 11, 2021 @03:37PM (#25736315)
I've been a Parler user for multiple months and have never seen any of the activity like the above poster is claiming. While I occasionally read the far-right stuff for fun (and the far-left stuff on Twitter), my interests are mostly in tech. Never once has someone tried to "recruit" me for any of the above.

I can only assume this nonsense is trolling/preaching to the choir, etc.

Re:"Equal pay for equal work" in remote jobs on Wednesday November 18, 2020 @01:21PM (#25140325)
For one thing, if you give your employer a wildly wrong address (i.e. different state), your taxes will end up pretty screwed up.

Your example could possibly work for NYC vs. upstate, middle-of-nowhere NY, though.

I think more results are needed to smooth out the curves. If you check all the results by model so far,

https://browser.geekbench.com/v5/cpu/search?q=MacBookPro17%2...

https://browser.geekbench.com/v5/cpu/search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q...

it looks like they're all in the same ballpark (i.e. the Air is not leading others, just comparable).

Re:Why is it hard to make friends over 30? (2012) on Wednesday February 21, 2018 @09:27AM (#16429632)
We've had similar experiences in the swinging lifestyle (not to compare the two in any way, it just seemed like a good place to add our experience). We moved to a new area 2500 miles away, tried our best to make friends, had kids a few years later, tried again to make new friends with other parents (had a few successes), and then later on got into swinging.

WOW. You will never find a friendlier bunch of people who are always looking for new friends, even when there isn't attraction present (a common mistake in the vanilla world is that lifestylers have sex with anything that moves). It is the most welcoming community we've ever been a part of.
