Only GNOME supports clipboard sharing with guests, because GNOME unifies X11 and Wayland clipboards in the compositor. None of the other Wayland DEs are supporting it since it requires special handling in their respective compositors.

I understand your decision. But still switching from one proprietary OS to another does not help in long run. There's no guarantee that Apple will not become another adtech company. Linux seems to be the long term fix for all of us.

Why not give up on Windows and switch to any of popular Linux distros?

I'm following the same workflow. I use a Linux host and then a Linux guest with OpenGL acceleration on virt-manager. I do all my development and browsing inside the VM. I do not trust any of the npm packages or PIP packages. Any personal stuff like banking, password manager, Nextcloud goes on the host.

With modern virtio interfaces for network, disk and graphics practically giving near metal performance, there's no reason to not utilize VMs for development.

They also want apps to check for root permissions to prevent running on rooted phones. There are also mentions of obfuscation of the binaries to increase security.

The title is right according to the proposed rules. Indian government doesn't want their people to run programs they would want to on their own device bought with their own money, without getting it signed by Google/Apple.

Either the government is fooled by the word "sideloading" which truly means "freedom to run any code" but madeup in such a way that it means bypassing security of Android and iOS or the government doesn't like the fact that they cannot ban apps directly downloaded from web.

Indian government's rules are always "one step forward, ten steps backward"!

Finder is the worst file manager I've ever used. Mac's notification UX is a fucking mess. Not to mention users cannot uninstall pre-installed bloatwares.

User account to download from app store? Why the hell should I give an email address and phone number to download apps and SDKs for developement?

Also let's not forget that Mac OS sends hash of the application to mothership each time you start it. Unless it sends the hash and verifies it you cannot open the app. I really doubt if it is my computer.

Excluding system apps from the VPN? No, thanks.
