So, how many of them has he read?
You're welcome.
Thinking about it, the previous version probably would have led to more interesting answers.
Like yours.
Start with a simple analog Braitenberg vehicle and learn how to ascribe intelligent behaviour to a purely mechanical system.
No, Mr Horvath did.
I changed the title accordingly.

My inner Douglas Hofstaedter likes that!
I stopped watching the video when the first ships approached Old London Bridge, which were clearly too tall to pass through, and fortunately the camera angle changed before I had to witness the AI shipwreck.
This reminds me of Dr. Adrian Thompson's interesting findings from the mid-1990s on the influence of electromagnetic phenomena in evolvable hardware on FPGAs.

Of course, the substrate being researched back then is different from human wetware.
That reminds me of how the manufacturer's customer service department for my car some thirty years ago tried to convince me that the problems with the ignition electronics could also be caused by solar flares.
Which could have been the case, of course, but then it would surely have affected other vehicle owners as well.
Though, maybe the sun did shine just for me back then, you can never be sure, can't you.
I briefly considered consulting an astronomer.
"Millions long for immortality who don't know what to do with themselves on a rainy Sunday afternoon."
Susan Ertz. Anger in the Sky. Hodder & Stoughton. 1943
That may be the case, but I can't personally confirm it.
On the other hand, I have never felt a particular need.
There were some or not.
They come and they go.
It probably also depends on what you want to understand by the term friend.

And in Cixin Liu’s short story "Devourer" they even come back to earth for a last visit...
Of course, this has a back-story/history, see "Of Ants and Dinosaurs".
I asked ChatGPT o1-preview with cutt-off October 2023 and it was not enthusiastic about the idea and said medicine would be closer.
ChatGPT 40 wasn't keen about it either.
Perplexity.ai told me it is what it is, it's a great idea and it's fine with it.
I am an avid news junkie, but this one came to me just a few minutes ago via an obscure social media dedicated to anything that satisfies intellectual curiosity.
From this I conclude this performance from two days ago is not having the desired effect on the masses.
To what extent this can be considered a work of art in the age of mechanical reproduction, I don't have a clear answer to that yet.
Although it was the second performance of the play, as far as it is known no Heinz' soups were harmed this time.
I will have to ask some LLM on this later after feeding it with the works of Walter Benjamin.

"If we have our own why in life, we shall get along with almost any how. Man does not strive for pleasure; only the Englishman does."
Friedrich Nietzsche, Twilight of the Idols
Meaning is in the eye of the beholder.
For most people in most of history their work just meant to bring food on the table.
You should have put that in quotes.
I would even openly admit that I voted your comment up to mitigate the punishment for your mistake, but then they would vote me down.
So, I don't.
Just so as not to be misunderstood.
Floating weightlessly in my Mi-Go brain cylinder, I look forward to a future in which everyone can share my happiness.
But, how do they freeze their socio-economic ecosystem?
Well, in the long run we're all dead, right?
No math involved and you probably don't have to experience it.
Case closed.
Perfect is the enemy of good, so why vote for a lesser good?
Humans are so existentially biased and self-centred!
And they are always forgetting that they wouldn't even be there if others hadn't made room for them. From the Great Oxygen to the K–Pg extinction event.
Be generous!
"Man is something that shall be overcome. What have you done to overcome him?"
