Not that famously it seems. He frets about traffic decline and wants to be more widely read, yet his headlines have inside jokes?
Re:Apple's New Market on Wednesday February 11, 2015 @07:37PM (#9036649)
The entire Apple's New Market section is muddled. Apple will "leave smartphones behind" for "foundational services" which are accessed...through a smartphone.

Reasonable assertions followed by breathless hype for the Apple watch.

Bing is just on Siri and Spotlight in Yosemite. All versions of Safari still default to Google. In fact that default deal will end soon, and Bing and Yahoo want to replace Google as the default.

If working shifts were staggered that would do more to reduce congestion I think.

Far more likely are car accidents and new frontiers in insurance liability.

Are there any young sexy hipster actuarial startups? The bidding war starts now.

Re:Hands-On with Microsoft's New Holographic Goggles on Thursday January 22, 2015 @05:49AM (#8928491)
Its turned into shorthand for "seeing objects in space that aren't really there". They could have also gone with "compugraphic hallucinations" or "pink elephant computing".

Skeuomorphic UI design makes a comeback ;) Ironic that after they push for flat UI that this device is going back to 3-D UI (obviously 3-D is the whole point). It might look bad if light sources of the rendered objects are not consistent with your surroundings.
Re:From Poop to Potable on Tuesday January 06, 2015 @09:05PM (#8848452)
It seems unlikely that how charitable the company or person you're buying from would have a meaningful impact on consumer decisions. If that were so Newman's Own or similar companies would dominate over other food brands.

Re:The most popular web sites every year since 1996 on Tuesday December 16, 2014 @02:07PM (#8758698)
CBS, Turner, Weather Co, Comcast NBC, and Gannett are all solidly old media. NBC and CBS got started with radio broadcasts in the 20s! Who says old media can't adapt?
Re:Barnes and Noble and Microsoft End Nook Partnership on Friday December 05, 2014 @05:22AM (#8703729)

If it weren't for Microsoft charging for software, he wouldn't have leverage to make this demand for free access. ;)
Re:Alibaba's Singles' Day sales exceed predictions at $9.3B on Tuesday November 11, 2014 @09:59AM (#8590060)
Consumerization of PRC!

from the article: "Please Singles' Day, can you pass by quickly?," reads a typical comment. "I didn't think I needed anything until today when I feel like I need everything I see. I'm so helpless!"

Re:Surface 3 Update on Sunday November 02, 2014 @09:10PM (#8549009)
It wouldn't cost much to hire some recent illustration or design school grads and have them do nothing but test the Surface all day and give feature and usability suggestions. Asking a busy person like the Penny Arcade artist to offer suggestions right before the ship date, and then use his suggestions in post-ship date fixes is just half assed.
If only the press and twitter got as worked up about the multi year wage fixing lawsuit that may or may not go to trial rather than these little gaffes and gotcha moments
